Yes, Cyberpunk 2077 supports PC-to-console cross-progression, and PC players can use community mods. Whether your PC can run it depends on the resolution, graphics preset, and ray-tracing mode you want: CD PROJEKT RED’s published requirements give separate targets for each. The figures below are the publisher’s June 2023 targets, not new 2026 benchmark results.

What to check before upgrading
- Choose a target first. Minimum is the publisher’s 1080p Low target, not a promise of high settings. Compare your components with the tier for your intended resolution and ray-tracing mode.
- Check storage type as well as free space. The listed capacity is 70 GB. Update 2.0 made SSD storage a requirement and advised against HDDs—and SD-card use on Steam Deck—because lower bandwidth could interfere with streaming new content. See the publisher’s Update 2.0 notes.
- Do not treat expected FPS as a guarantee. These are publisher targets based on internal testing; your measured results depend on your particular system and settings.
Does Cyberpunk 2077 have PC cross-saves?
Yes. Cross-progression lets you move progress between PC and consoles by signing in to your CD PROJEKT RED account in the game. Patch 1.6 says the latest save for each save type—such as Quick, Auto, and Manual—is uploaded automatically to the cloud. It describes the latest save in each category, not an unlimited cloud archive of every save.

How to transfer a save
- Launch Cyberpunk 2077 on the source platform and sign in to your CD PROJEKT RED account from the main menu or the in-game Load Game menu.
- Allow the latest save for the relevant save type to upload. The feature was introduced in Patch 1.6.
- Launch the game on the destination platform and sign in to the same account. Check Load Game for the available cloud save, then load it.
Patch 2.13, dated September 12, 2024, says cross-progression continues to function despite a PC/console version mismatch. That does not establish that every platform, region, edition, or save will always be compatible; the publisher also documents restrictions for some console saves.
If a save does not appear
- Confirm both copies are signed in to the same CD PROJEKT RED account and that the source save had time to upload.
- Check whether the save exceeds the maximum console save size. Patch 2.02 says cross-progression blocks uploads of saves above that limit to prevent crashes and import problems.
- For a platform- or region-specific problem, consult current official support details. The patch notes document possible regional restrictions for console versions, but do not provide a complete current regional and platform matrix. The publisher’s My Rewards page also describes signing in through REDlauncher with a CD PROJEKT RED account.
How do you install Cyberpunk 2077 mods on PC?
REDmod is free DLC that adds integrated mod loading and official tools for creating Cyberpunk 2077 content. Not every community mod uses REDmod, so follow the installation instructions for the specific mod and match it to your game version.

Install REDmod-compatible mods
- Install REDmod through your game launcher if it is not already included. CD PROJEKT RED says Epic Games Store installs it automatically with Cyberpunk 2077 version 1.6 or later rather than offering it as a separate download.
- For a mod marked REDmod-compatible, place its files in
Cyberpunk 2077modsas directed by that mod. The official support page says aninfo.jsonmanifest identifies compatible mods. - Enable or disable compatible mods through REDlauncher or GOG Galaxy after REDmod is installed.
- If using NexusMods, CD PROJEKT RED’s instructions say to add the game to the NexusMods account’s Games tab, install Vortex, and sign in through Vortex. For manual installation, follow the mod author’s own directions.
Older mods installed in the archive folder can still load, but they do not appear in the REDmod menu. See the publisher’s REDmod support and FAQ for launcher-specific instructions.
Check compatibility and protect your setup
- Check the mod’s stated game-version compatibility and whether its creator has updated it for your installed version.
- Update 2.0 specifically advised removing pre-2.0 mods until the community updated them, because outdated mods could disrupt gameplay or cause critical errors. That was guidance for the 2.0 transition, not a claim that all current mods are unsafe.
- CD PROJEKT RED does not review or maintain community mods and may not support a modified game. For a mod-specific issue, the publisher directs players to the mod creator.
If a mod causes trouble, disable or remove it using its installation method and retest the game before adding other mods. Keep in mind the publisher’s position: “Cyberpunk 2077 mods are created by the community and not reviewed by CD PROJEKT RED.”
