For a reliable Create World of Gears – Create Aeronautics server, install the CurseForge server pack for Minecraft 1.21.1, currently listed as version 0.4.2, rather than the client download. Use the exact NeoForge version bundled with that file, run the server on Java 21 as the general 1.21.x guidance, and plan at least 10 GB of RAM with a strong single-thread CPU. Create automation, trains and chunk simulation make processor speed more important than simply adding memory.

What Create World of Gears is

Create World of Gears – Create Aeronautics is a ManiacVII modpack distributed through CurseForge. It combines the Create engineering system with an aeronautics-focused progression and is packaged for Minecraft 1.21.1 on NeoForge. A dedicated server must use the server pack supplied for the same release as the clients; a normal client profile contains files and settings that are not intended to run a headless server.

Hosting listings use the name “HP – Create World of Gears – Create 6.0.10,” so Create 6.0.10 is present in at least some builds. Do not independently replace Create or other mods with newer files: even a minor change can produce registry mismatches, missing recipes or a world that will not load.

Which release and download to use

Use the newest confirmed CurseForge release

The CurseForge project page lists version 0.4.2 as the latest release and identifies its server archive as HP-CWoG-1.21.1-S-0.4.2-ServerPack. Check the project’s Files tab immediately before downloading, because search listings disagree about a 0.4.0 release dated September 17, 2026, and the Modpack Index listing is marked out of date. The confirmed CurseForge file should be your authority.

Release or listing What is established How to use that information
0.4.2 Latest version shown on the CurseForge project page; server file named HP-CWoG-1.21.1-S-0.4.2-ServerPack Preferred starting point when the Files tab still shows it as current
0.3.2 CurseForge file page shows Minecraft 1.21.1, Create 6.0.10 and a server pack of about 398 MB Use only when every client is intentionally staying on 0.3.2
0.2.6 Older server pack listed at about 365.8 MB Legacy worlds only; do not mix it with 0.4.x clients
0.4.0 search result Search summary reports a September 17, 2026 release, but the underlying page was not confirmed Verify on CurseForge before treating it as a real downloadable release

Server pack or client pack?

Download the file explicitly labelled ServerPack. The client pack is for a launcher profile and may not include the startup scripts, server configuration or complete dedicated-server layout. If the archive name does not contain “ServerPack,” return to the Files tab and select the server download for the same version.

Hardware and software requirements

Resource Planning figure Qualification
Memory At least 10 GB RAM Game Host Bros lists a 10 GB minimum and allocates 7.8 GB to Java at startup in its server configuration. This is a practical baseline, not a guarantee for every player count or build.
Memory, bare-minimum listing 5,000 MB CreeperHost lists 5,000 MB as a minimum. Treat it as a lower hosting threshold; large Create factories and trains can need substantially more headroom.
Memory, community guidance 6–8 GB for “All of Create”; 10+ GB for communities of 15 or more players ModReady’s general Create guidance says CPU matters more than RAM. It is not a pack-specific benchmark.
CPU Strong single-thread performance Create contraptions, train schedules and tick-heavy factories stress the main server thread. CreeperHost lists a minimum of two 4.5 GHz CPU cores and specifically emphasizes a strong CPU.
Storage 15 GB minimum SSD CreeperHost lists 15 GB. The server pack itself is hundreds of megabytes, while generated terrain, player data, logs and backups grow over time, so leave free space beyond that figure.
Java Java 21 guidance for Minecraft 1.21.x ModReady gives Java 21 as the general requirement for 1.21.x packs. Confirm the launcher script and the selected pack’s file details because a pack-specific Java note was not published in the available listing.
Mod loader NeoForge matching the pack Apex Hosting’s general guidance is that the server and clients must use the same Minecraft version, mod loader and exact NeoForge version.

For a private server with a few players, start with the 10 GB planning figure and monitor actual usage. For a public or 15-plus-player server, reserve more memory if your host allows it, but do not use RAM to compensate for a slow CPU. A fast SSD helps world saves and chunk generation; it does not remove the simulation load from the processor.

Prepare the server machine

1. Choose an isolated server directory

Create a new directory such as create-world-of-gears-server on an SSD. Keep it separate from your client launcher files and from unrelated Minecraft worlds. The directory will contain the server pack, configuration, world, logs and backups, so avoid a path that is automatically synchronized or cleaned by another application.

2. Install and verify Java 21

Install a 64-bit Java 21 runtime and make sure the server uses that executable rather than an older Java on your system path. In a terminal, run:

java -version

The output should identify Java 21. If it reports Java 8, 17 or a 32-bit runtime, correct the system path or edit the server start script to point to the Java 21 executable. Do not infer the required NeoForge version from Java: those are separate compatibility checks.

3. Match the client and server versions before opening the port

  • Record the exact pack release, such as 0.4.2.
  • Record the Minecraft version, 1.21.1.
  • Record the NeoForge version shown by the server pack or its manifest.
  • Install that same combination in every player’s client launcher profile.

The exact NeoForge build for Create World of Gears was not confirmed in the available project summaries, so read it from the downloaded 0.4.2 server files rather than guessing. A client on the right Minecraft version but a different NeoForge build can still fail during the handshake.

Install Create World of Gears step by step

  1. Download the archive. From CurseForge’s Files tab, select the confirmed release and download its file whose name ends in ServerPack. Save it to the empty server directory.
  2. Extract the archive. Preserve the directory structure. If the extractor creates an extra top-level folder, move the actual server files into the directory from which you intend to launch the server.
  3. Inspect the supplied scripts. Look for the included Windows and Linux start scripts, NeoForge installer output and configuration folders. Use the script supplied by the pack whenever possible; it normally carries the correct loader and class-path details.
  4. Run the server once. Start the supplied script from a terminal so that errors remain visible. The first launch may create configuration files and stop while requesting acceptance of Minecraft’s EULA.
  5. Accept the EULA only if you agree to it. Open the generated eula.txt, change the value to eula=true, save it, and start the script again. Never place the value in a different file or add quotation marks.
  6. Wait for the ready message. Allow the initial mod scan and world creation to finish. The server is ready when the console reports that it has finished loading and accepts commands; interrupting the first startup can leave incomplete configuration files.
  7. Stop cleanly. In the server console, enter stop and wait for the save to complete before closing the terminal. Do not terminate the process while it is writing the world.

If the archive provides no usable script, use the NeoForge launch command generated by that server installation rather than inventing a jar filename. The correct command can change between NeoForge releases; the files in the selected pack are the source of truth.

Configure view distance, simulation and access

Recommended starting values

ModReady’s general Create guidance suggests view-distance=10 for trains and simulation-distance=6 as starting points. Edit these keys in server.properties while the server is stopped, then restart it. View distance controls how many chunks players receive; simulation distance controls how far entities and block updates continue to tick. Raising both values increases CPU, memory and bandwidth use.

  • The classic UNO card game builds fun on game night with a Minecraft theme.
  • UNO Minecraft features a deck and storage tin decorated with graphics from the popular video game.
  • Players match colors and numbers to the card on top of the discard pile as in the classic game.
  • The Creeper card unique to this deck forces other players to draw 3 cards.
  • Makes a great gift for kid, teen, adult and family game nights with 2 to 10 players ages 7 years and older, especially Minecraft and video game fans.
  • Start at view distance 10 and simulation distance 6.
  • Lower simulation distance first if factories lag while players are spread out.
  • Change one setting at a time and observe tick performance during normal play.
  • Keep a copy of server.properties before making changes so you can revert quickly.

Network and operator settings

Give the server a fixed local address on a home network or reserve its address in the router. Forward the Minecraft port only when players outside the local network need access, and restrict firewall rules to the required port and server machine. Grant operator status only to trusted administrators; use the console for first-time setup rather than exposing administrative commands to everyone.

Ask each player to connect using the server’s address and the standard Minecraft port unless you deliberately changed it. Players on the same LAN can use the private address; internet players need the public address and a router rule that forwards traffic to the server.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

Client installation and first connection

  1. Install the same Minecraft 1.21.1 profile and the same Create World of Gears release as the server.
  2. Use the pack’s client distribution through the supported launcher, not a manually assembled collection of individual mods.
  3. Confirm the NeoForge version in the client’s profile matches the server’s exact build.
  4. Launch once in single-player or at the title screen to let the client create its configuration, then exit.
  5. Add the server address in Multiplayer and connect.

A mismatch normally appears as a mod-list, registry or network-handshake error. Record the exact release and loader shown in both launchers before changing files; deleting random mods usually creates a second mismatch instead of fixing the first.

Performance tuning for factories and trains

Prioritize the main thread

Create automation performs continuous block updates. Large moving contraptions, item transport, fluid networks and trains can all increase tick time. Because those calculations are not perfectly parallel, a processor with strong per-core performance is generally more valuable than a larger number of slower cores. Watch the server’s tick-time or MSPT indicator while the busiest bases are active, not only when everyone is standing at spawn.

Use memory headroom, not maximum allocation

Set the Java heap according to the machine’s total memory and leave room for the operating system, file cache and native processes. A 10 GB machine should not have every gigabyte assigned to Java. The 7.8 GB Java allocation reported by Game Host Bros illustrates that distinction: a service can advertise 10 GB while reserving less for the heap. If garbage-collection pauses occur, check whether the heap is too small; if the host swaps or the operating system becomes unresponsive, the heap may be too large.

Control chunk activity

  • Keep view distance and simulation distance at the starting values until you have measured the server.
  • Avoid permanently loaded, high-throughput farms unless they are needed.
  • Park trains and contraptions when they are not being used, especially near dense redstone or processing areas.
  • Spread large factories across sensible areas instead of stacking every machine in one permanently active chunk.
  • Pregenerate only what your storage and CPU can support; unplanned exploration can create sudden terrain-generation spikes.

Do not confuse client FPS with server lag

A player may have a low frame rate because of animated machinery while the server remains healthy, or the server may have long ticks while clients render normally. Check both sides: delayed block updates, rubber-banding and slow redstone indicate server load; a low local frame rate with responsive interaction points to client rendering. Tune the responsible side instead of adding server RAM for a graphics problem.

Backups, updates and world safety

Make a restorable backup

Stop the server with the stop command before copying the world. Back up the world directory, server.properties, configuration folders and the server’s mod lists. Keep at least one backup outside the live server directory; a disk failure or accidental deletion can otherwise remove both copies.

Plan an upgrade window

  1. Announce a maintenance time and stop the server cleanly.
  2. Copy the complete world and configuration to a dated backup location.
  3. Download the new CurseForge server pack into a separate directory.
  4. Compare the new pack’s Minecraft, NeoForge and mod versions with the clients you intend to use.
  5. Test a copy of the world first. Never make the only copy your upgrade test.
  6. Tell every player to update the client before reopening the public server.

Do not overwrite a functioning installation while experimenting. Keeping one directory per release makes rollback possible if a mod update changes terrain, recipes or saved data.

Troubleshooting common failures

The server closes immediately

  • Run the supplied script from a terminal and read the first error, not only the final shutdown line.
  • Check java -version; Minecraft 1.21.x guidance points to Java 21.
  • Confirm that the archive was extracted completely and that the script’s working directory is the server directory.
  • Accept the EULA in the generated eula.txt and start again.

Clients receive a mod or registry mismatch

Verify all three values together: pack release, Minecraft 1.21.1 and exact NeoForge build. A 0.3.2 client cannot safely join a 0.4.2 server merely because both use Minecraft 1.21.1. Reinstall the complete matching client profile rather than copying individual jar files.

The world lags when machinery runs

  • Check whether the CPU is saturated or the server’s tick time rises during factory operation.
  • Reduce simulation distance from the starting value before increasing RAM.
  • Pause unnecessary contraptions and trains and distribute always-on processing.
  • Inspect storage and logs for a full disk; the 15 GB hosting figure is a minimum, not a growth limit.

Players cannot connect from outside the network

Confirm the server is listening on the configured port, the operating-system firewall allows it, and the router forwards that port to the server’s fixed local address. Test locally first. If local players can connect but internet players cannot, the problem is usually routing, firewall policy or an address change rather than the modpack.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

The server works but trains or chunks behave oddly after an update

Stop the server, restore the pre-update backup and test the update on a copy. Check the release notes and the exact mod list supplied with the new server pack. Never remove a mod from a live world simply because it appears unrelated; saved blocks and entities may depend on it.

Practical launch checklist

  • CurseForge release verified; 0.4.2 is the current listed choice.
  • File name identifies the 1.21.1 server pack, not the client pack.
  • Java 21 is installed and the start script uses it.
  • NeoForge version is read from the selected pack and matches every client.
  • Machine has at least 10 GB total RAM available for a sensible baseline, a strong CPU and SSD storage.
  • EULA accepted, first launch completed and the server stops cleanly.
  • view-distance=10 and simulation-distance=6 are used as initial values.
  • Firewall, router forwarding and operator permissions are configured deliberately.
  • A dated, external backup exists before anyone builds a permanent base.

Bottom line

Download the confirmed CurseForge server pack for version 0.4.2, keep the entire stack on Minecraft 1.21.1, match NeoForge exactly and use Java 21 as the starting point. Allocate at least 10 GB of system memory while prioritizing a fast CPU, begin with view distance 10 and simulation distance 6, and protect the world with clean shutdowns and independent backups. Those choices address the failures most likely to affect a Create-heavy server: mismatched files, insufficient processing capacity and unsafe updates.
