What Create Ultimate Selection 2 – Create Aeronautics is
Create Ultimate Selection 2 – Create Aeronautics is a curated Minecraft modpack by TheWizard. It combines the Create automation system with Create add-ons, technology, exploration and a quest progression designed for engineering projects. The Aeronautics focus extends that concept into the sky: players can build large airships, flying machines, transport networks and functional aerial factories rather than limiting automation to a ground-based plant.

The pack targets Minecraft 1.21.1 and uses NeoForge. It is intended for solo play or multiplayer, so a dedicated server is useful when several players want to share a long-running factory, quest line or transport network. The quests provide an in-game route through Create mechanics, automation, add-ons and more advanced technology; they do not remove the need to plan chunks, storage and machine traffic on a shared server.
Current release and compatibility
As of October 15, 2026, the official CurseForge files index lists version 12.6.0, uploaded October 12, 2026, and shows a matching server-pack artifact. Treat these four items as one installation set:
#1 Best Overall
- DELUXE COLLECTION — Includes Minecraft: Java & Bedrock Edition, three Bedrock add-ons, three exclusive Character Creator items, and 700 Minecoins.
- CREATE YOUR WORLD — Build whatever you imagine in an infinite world that’s unique in every playthrough.
- EXPLORE AND CRAFT — Discover biomes, resources, and mobs, then craft your way through a sandbox world filled with surprises.
- SURVIVE THE ADVENTURE — Face mysterious foes, travel across exciting landscapes, and venture into perilous dimensions.
- PLAY TOGETHER — Play cross-platform with friends in Bedrock Edition on console, mobile, and PC, or join community servers in Java Edition on PC, Mac, and Linux. Online console multiplayer requires a platform-specific subscription (sold separately).
- the Minecraft version: 1.21.1;
- the NeoForge loader required by the selected pack release;
- the client modpack release; and
- the server-pack release with the same version family.
Do not select a client from one release family and a server pack from another simply because both display “1.21.1.” The game version alone does not guarantee that mod files, configuration files or world data are compatible. Check the release notes and file names on the official CurseForge project before replacing an existing installation. Modrinth also lists versioned releases, but its listing directs readers to TheWizard’s CurseForge profile for the server pack.
Choose a deployment method
There are three practical ways to run the pack. Your choice affects setup time and how much responsibility you retain for updates, backups and troubleshooting.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches2Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems3Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute| Method | Best for | Installation work | Control and trade-offs |
|---|---|---|---|
| Self-hosted computer or dedicated machine | Small groups, testing, or an operator comfortable with files and networking | Download the server pack, install the matching NeoForge environment, create a launch script and configure network access | Maximum control and no host-panel limits; you provide power, storage, firewall rules, backups and availability |
| Managed host with one-click pack support | Groups that want a panel-driven setup and managed connectivity | Select the exact 1.21.1 NeoForge pack release if offered, or import the official server pack through the panel | Faster deployment and built-in controls may cost more; confirm the panel supports this specific pack and allows version pinning |
| Managed host with manual import | Operators whose preferred host does not list the pack in its catalog | Upload the official server-pack files, select the required Java/NeoForge profile and set the launch target | More flexible than a catalog install, but you must understand the host’s file layout, restart process and backup tools |
No neutral benchmark establishes a required RAM amount, CPU tier, player capacity, latency target or tick rate for this pack. Choose a host that clearly supports modded NeoForge servers, lets you allocate resources appropriate to your world and exposes backups, logs and file access. Treat any provider’s mod-count or performance statement as provider-reported rather than an independent test.

Prepare the server before installing
1. Pin the release you will run
Write down the client release, the server-pack release and the NeoForge version shown in the pack’s files or notes. For a new world, version 12.6.0 is the release currently listed on CurseForge. If your friends already have another release, use that exact release instead of upgrading one side first.
2. Create a clean server directory
Use a new folder with enough free disk space for the initial files, generated chunks, player data, logs and multiple backups. Avoid installing over an unrelated NeoForge world: old mods and configuration files can survive an overwrite and create errors that look like a pack bug.
3. Install the Java runtime required by NeoForge
Use the Java version specified by the NeoForge installer and the selected pack release. Confirm the runtime is available to the account that will launch the server by checking the Java version in a terminal or the host panel. If the installer reports an unsupported runtime, change Java before changing mod files; mixing runtimes and mod versions makes diagnosis harder.

- Fight your way through an all-new action-adventure game, inspired by classic dungeon crawlers and set in the Minecraft universe!
- Play with up to four friends or brave the dungeons alone. Battle new-and-nasty mobs across action-packed, wildly varied levels, in a quest to defeat the evil Arch-Illager!
4. Plan storage, access and backups
- Keep the server files on local storage rather than a synchronized consumer folder that can lock or partially upload region files.
- Reserve a separate location for backups so a full world disk cannot also destroy the only backup copy.
- Decide who can restart the server, install updates and restore a world.
- For a public server, configure the host or firewall so only the intended game port is reachable and use an allowlist if the group is private.
Install the official server pack
Option A: a host’s one-click catalog
- Open the host’s modpack installer and search for the complete pack name, Create Ultimate Selection 2 – Create Aeronautics.
- Select the release that matches every client. Confirm the panel identifies Minecraft 1.21.1 and NeoForge, not a similarly named Forge or Fabric profile.
- Check that the panel is installing a server-capable package. A client profile copied into a server directory may contain launcher metadata but omit server scripts or required files.
- Set the server name, access controls and backup schedule, then run the installation.
- Start once and stop the server after it creates its files. Accept the Minecraft EULA in the generated
eula.txtonly after reading its terms, then start again. - Join with a client using the identical pack release. If the panel silently updates, disable automatic updates or pin the version before inviting players.
Option B: manual server-pack import
- Download the server-pack file associated with the chosen release from the official CurseForge files page. Do not assemble a server by downloading individual mods from unrelated versions.
- Extract the package into the clean server directory, preserving its folder structure and any included scripts, configuration files and libraries.
- Run the included NeoForge installation or launch procedure for the package. If the package supplies a host-specific script, use that script rather than inventing a different loader argument.
- Start the server once, review the log for a normal NeoForge boot and stop it cleanly. The first run may create configuration files and a world directory.
- Open
eula.txt, set the EULA acknowledgement as required by Minecraft, save it, and start the server again. - Set the world seed or world-generation options before players explore. Changing generation settings after chunks have been created can produce a mixed world.
Server-pack layouts differ between releases and hosts. If a supplied script refers to a loader file that is not present, re-download the matching server pack and compare its release notes before copying files from another version. A clean reinstall is usually safer than merging two mod directories.
Make the client and server match
Every player should install the same client profile, Minecraft version, NeoForge loader and modpack release. The quickest way to enforce that is to publish one version number in your group chat and refuse ad-hoc updates until the server is updated deliberately.
| Item to compare | Expected result | If it differs |
|---|---|---|
| Pack release | Client and server show the same release family, such as 12.6.0 | Install the matching client or restore the server’s previous files; do not test with a different release on the live world |
| Minecraft version | 1.21.1 on both sides | Change the profile rather than trying to connect across game versions |
| Loader | NeoForge on both sides | Recreate the profile with NeoForge; another loader is not interchangeable |
| Mods and configs | Server-pack contents and client profile come from the same release | Remove manually added or leftover files, then reinstall the official package |
A “missing mods,” “mod rejected,” or registry mismatch message is normally a compatibility problem, not a network problem. Record the first mod named in the disconnect message, compare its version on both sides and restore the official file set before changing ports or firewall settings.

Start the first world safely
Use a deliberate world-start plan
Generate the world while the server is empty, then let the operator explore a short distance and stop the server cleanly. This creates the initial region files and reveals generation errors before several players build on top of them. Keep the first backup before anyone begins a large factory or airship project.
Assign a shared engineering layout
- Reserve a central area for the spawn point, quest hand-in space and shared storage.
- Place early Create machines where moving contraptions will not cross the spawn area or a dense player base.
- Give large factories, bulk storage and aerial launch zones separate areas so one project does not block another player’s access.
- Agree on chunk-loading rules before building always-on production. Unplanned loaded areas increase work for the server even when nobody is nearby.
Progress through the quest line together
Use the quests as a staged curriculum: learn core Create components, automate repeatable resources, add the pack’s technology and addons, then move into advanced transport and Aeronautics projects. On a multiplayer server, decide whether quest rewards are individual or shared and document who is responsible for communal machines. The pack’s quest system is guidance; it does not automatically balance resource consumption between players.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone.Performance planning without invented benchmarks
Create contraptions, moving airships, item transport and automated factories can all increase the amount of work a server performs. No independent test in the available material establishes a universal RAM requirement, maximum player count, CPU recommendation, latency figure or expected ticks per second for this pack. Plan conservatively and measure your own world through the server log and host monitoring instead of treating a provider’s advertised mod count as a capacity guarantee.
Reduce avoidable load
- Stop demonstration contraptions when they are not producing anything useful.
- Keep item and fluid routes short and purposeful; do not create loops that run indefinitely.
- Separate large factories and aerial test areas so players are not loading every machine from one crowded base.
- Pre-generate only the area your group actually needs, and make a backup first.
- Watch for a problem immediately after adding a mod, datapack or complex contraption; that timestamp makes the log easier to interpret.
Read symptoms correctly
Slow block interaction, delayed machine movement and rubber-banding suggest server-side work or network delay, while a client frame-rate drop can be local rendering. Have the operator check server logs and the host’s CPU, memory and disk indicators before removing mods. Do not promise that adding memory alone will fix a CPU-bound factory or a broken contraption.
Backups, updates and rollback
Use a repeatable backup cycle
- Stop the server cleanly before taking a full world backup; copying active region files can produce an incomplete snapshot.
- Include the world directory, server configuration, pack-specific configuration and any scripts that define the launch profile.
- Keep more than one dated backup and store at least one copy outside the live server directory.
- Test a restore on a separate folder or temporary instance. A backup that has never been restored is only an assumption.
Update as a controlled migration
- Announce a maintenance window and record the current working release.
- Stop the server, take a verified backup and install the new client and server-pack files in a separate directory.
- Read the release notes for configuration or world-conversion warnings. Do not delete old configuration files until the new instance has started successfully.
- Start the new instance with a copy of the world, let it complete any conversion, and inspect the log for errors.
- Have one player test joining, quests, Create machines, storage and an Aeronautics contraption before switching the group over.
- Keep the old installation untouched until the new world has been backed up and several sessions have completed without errors.
Never update only the server or only the clients. If an update is not reversible, delay it until you have a tested backup and a clear rollback directory.
Troubleshooting the most common failures
The server closes during startup
- Read the first exception and the mod named immediately around it, not just the final “server stopped” line.
- Confirm Minecraft 1.21.1, NeoForge and the pack release are the intended combination.
- Move manually added mods and old configuration files out of the directory, then retry with a clean server-pack extraction.
- Check that the Java runtime meets the NeoForge requirement for this release.
Players cannot connect
- Verify the server is fully started and listening on the port configured by the host or router.
- Confirm the player is using the same release, loader and Minecraft version.
- Interpret a mod-list rejection as a file mismatch; interpret a timeout or refusal as a service, firewall or address issue.
- For a private group, check the allowlist and the exact address players were given.
The world loads, but machines behave strangely
- Stop the affected contraption and make a backup before dismantling or editing anything.
- Check whether the behavior began after a release change, configuration edit or partial file replacement.
- Test the same area on a copy of the world with the official file set. Avoid experimenting on the only live copy.
The server becomes slow after expansion
- Identify which factory, transport route or flying machine was active when the slowdown began.
- Temporarily stop nonessential contraptions and compare the server’s monitoring data.
- Reduce always-loaded areas and move high-throughput systems away from the shared base.
- If the host cannot provide enough CPU or memory headroom, move the unchanged server directory and verified backup to a more capable plan rather than deleting mods at random.
Hosting option mentioned by the publisher
The official project description says that TheWizard personally uses BisectHosting to test and host Create Ultimate Selection 2, citing stable performance and one-click modpack installation. The same description advertises code THEWIZARD for 25% off. That is a publisher promotion, not an independent performance test; verify that the offer, disclosure requirements and affiliate terms are still current before using or publishing a monetized link.
Whether you choose that service or another host, compare the operational features that matter for this pack: exact 1.21.1 NeoForge support, the ability to import the official server pack, version pinning, access to logs and files, scheduled and downloadable backups, geographic location, modded-server support, resource controls and transparent recurring pricing. A one-click button is valuable only if it installs the same server-pack release your players are using.
Operational checklist
- Official server-pack artifact downloaded for the chosen release.
- Minecraft 1.21.1 and the required NeoForge environment confirmed.
- Client and server release numbers recorded and pinned.
- Clean server directory created with adequate storage headroom.
- Java runtime checked against the NeoForge requirement.
- EULA acknowledged after the first launch creates the file.
- Firewall, port, allowlist and operator permissions configured.
- Initial world generated and backed up before major construction.
- Restore procedure tested on a copy.
- Players given the exact profile and a single update policy.
Bottom line for a reliable Aeronautics server
Start with the matching official server pack, not a hand-built collection of mods. For the release currently listed on CurseForge, that means Minecraft 1.21.1, NeoForge and version 12.6.0 on both client and server. Keep the world isolated from experimental updates, back it up before every migration and design shared bases around the moving contraptions and aerial factories that define the pack. Because no independent capacity benchmark establishes a universal hardware target, use your own logs and monitoring to scale resources as the factory grows.
