How does the gameplay work?
Platforming and play styles
Activision’s FAQ calls out wall running, rail grinding, and rope swinging. It also describes a choice between Modern and Retro play. The official game site says players can switch between Crash and Coco throughout the game.
Alternate timeline paths
The official game site also describes alternate timeline paths that provide different perspectives and gameplay. These are publisher-described features, not a performance or quality assessment.

What should you check before buying?
- Match the game to your system. Confirm the platform and generation you own before selecting a listing.
- Choose format deliberately. Check whether the listing is for a physical disc or a digital copy; this affects compatibility and upgrade options.
- Consider portability. The Switch listing is the portable-console option among the platforms listed, while the sources cited here do not establish comparative performance across systems.
- Check your region and the current listing. Verify edition, stock, and price with the storefront or retailer serving your location.
Important PS4 disc and PS5 Digital Edition limitation
PlayStation’s product page warns: “PS4™ game disc owners who buy the PS5™ Digital Edition disc-free console will not be able to get the PS5™ version at no extra cost.” If you own a PS4 disc and are considering a PS5 Digital Edition, do not assume you can use the disc-based upgrade path.

- Neo Cortex and n. Tropy are back at it again and launching an all-out assault on not just this universe, but the entire multiverse! Crash and Coco are here to save the day by reuniting the four quantum masks and bending the rules of reality.
- New abilities? Check. More playable characters? Yep. Alternate Dimensions? Obviously. Ridonkulous bosses? For sure. Same awesome sauce? You bet your sweet jorts. Wait, are they actually jorts? Not in this universe!
- 2020-2021 Activision publishing, Inc. Activision, crash and Crash Bandicoot are trademarks of Activision publishing, Inc. All other trademarks and trade names are the property of their respective owners.
Launch price is not today’s price
Activision listed a US MSRP of $59.99 for the PS4 and Xbox One launch period in 2020. That is historical launch pricing, not a current price; check a current regional store listing for today’s cost.
Does it require an internet connection?
Activision’s FAQ says an internet connection is required for online leaderboards and Activision account registration. That statement does not establish that all gameplay requires an always-on connection.
