A Samsung phone can run Apple Music for Android, and you can copy some music files from a computer to a Galaxy phone. Those are different from syncing a Samsung phone with iTunes as you would an iPhone, iPad or iPod.
What “using iTunes” can mean
- Using Apple Music: Install the Apple Music app on a compatible Samsung phone and sign in with the Apple Account associated with your subscription. You can stream music through the service.
- Syncing a phone with iTunes: Apple’s Windows sync instructions cover iPhone, iPad and iPod, not Samsung phones. Apple describes music syncing on Windows through Apple Devices and the Apple Music app, rather than treating a Samsung phone as a supported sync target. Apple’s Windows music-sync guide
- Copying music files: You can transfer compatible local files from a computer to Galaxy storage using Samsung’s documented transfer methods. This is a file-copy process, not a live iTunes sync.
How to listen to Apple Music on a Samsung phone
Apple provides Apple Music for Android. Its compatibility requirement is Android 5.0 Lollipop or later; the app can be downloaded from Google Play. Sign in using the Apple Account tied to your Apple Music access. How to transfer local music files to a Galaxy phone
Samsung documents USB transfers from Windows, Mac and Chromebook. Menus and screens can vary by model, software version and country, so the exact labels may differ from those shown in Samsung’s Canada instructions. Windows
- Connect the Galaxy phone to the computer with a USB cable.
- On the phone, choose the USB option for file transfer if prompted.
- Open the phone’s storage in Windows Explorer and drag compatible music files into a folder on the phone.
Mac
Samsung’s guide describes using Android File Transfer with a USB connection to move files to the phone. Follow the steps in Samsung’s current instructions for the supported Mac workflow.

Chromebook
Samsung describes connecting the phone by USB and using the Chromebook’s Files app to copy music files.
Can Smart Switch transfer music from iTunes?
Samsung’s Smart Switch listing identifies PC or Mac transfer from iTunes, but specifies that music must be DRM-free. Samsung also describes restoring music from a computer backup with Smart Switch. Neither route means that every iTunes library item will transfer: protected music is excluded, and the listing does not establish transfer support for Apple Music subscription downloads. Why some music will not transfer or play
The key distinction is the kind of music you have. A DRM-free local audio file may be copied to the phone. Samsung warns that DRM-protected purchased music may not be compatible with Galaxy phones, and Smart Switch limits its music transfer to DRM-free content. Apple Music subscription downloads are managed within the service; do not treat them as ordinary files that can be extracted and copied to phone storage. For subscription listening on Samsung, use the Apple Music app instead.
