1Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute2Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors3Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesFor a warm treat eaten right away, choose the Costco food-court churro if your warehouse has it; for something portable or to keep at home, a packaged cinnamon-sugar donut bite may suit you better. There is no reliable, like-for-like nutrition comparison or sourced head-to-head taste test to name a universal winner. Costco’s returning churro is a limited-time U.S. food-court item, while its packaged churro donut bites are a separate product.
Is the Costco churro back, and how much is it?
Quartz reported on September 21, 2026, that Costco announced the limited-time return of its twisted churro to U.S. food courts on September 18. The reported price is $1.49. The return has no stated end date, and rollout timing varies by warehouse; check your local food-court menu before making a special trip. Quartz’s report attributes this wording to Costco: “Look out for it at your local warehouse over the coming weeks as exact launch dates vary.”

The returning food-court churro is reported as warm and covered in cinnamon sugar. That description applies to the food-court item, not Costco’s separately sold packaged churro donut bites.
How the two treats compare
| Factor | Costco food-court churro | Costco packaged churro donut bites |
|---|---|---|
| Where it fits | Freshly served food-court treat, if available at your warehouse | Packaged snack to take home |
| Price or serving information | $1.49 reported by Quartz for the limited-time U.S. return in September 2026; serving weight not stated in that report | Costco lists a 30-ounce package and 15 servings; a serving is five bites (54 g) |
| Published calories | No current figure is independently confirmed against a primary label | 280 calories per five-bite (54 g) serving, per Costco’s product listing |
| What is established about the flavor or texture | Reported as warm and coated in cinnamon sugar; no sourced head-to-head taste test | Costco describes the bites as dusted with cinnamon and sugar |
Costco’s Gen Bake Churro Donut Bites listing also reports 17 g fat, 28 g carbohydrate, 14 g added sugars and 3 g protein per five-bite (54 g) serving. It lists ingredients including enriched wheat flour, palm oil, sugar, water, cinnamon, soy ingredients, milk and egg yolks. Costco cautions that supplier label information may vary, so check the package you receive.

Why a calorie comparison would be misleading
The available Costco churro calorie claims do not agree, and none establishes a verified nutrition value for the 2026 return. DiningAndCooking.com reported 480 calories for the returning churro on September 21, 2026, attributing the number to Costco nutritional information, but that figure is secondary reporting and is not independently confirmed against a primary Costco label. Its report should not be treated as a confirmed current label.
A 2024 nutrition-PDF mirror lists 470 calories for a J&J churro and 410 for a California churro; those are previously listed variants, not verified figures for the 2026 return. The mirrored 2024 data cannot resolve the current figure. A 2026 Utility Commons menu chart lists 220 calories, which conflicts with the other claims and is not definitive nutrition data. That menu reference likewise does not establish the returning churro’s nutrition.
There is also no verified label for a specific conventional cinnamon-sugar donut in these sources. The 280 calories on Costco’s listing apply only to its packaged donut bites, not to a standard donut or a food-court churro. For an accurate comparison, use the current local menu or the label on the exact item you plan to eat.

Which one should you choose?
- Choose the food-court churro if you want a warm, freshly served cinnamon-sugar treat and your warehouse has it available.
- Choose packaged churro donut bites if portability or having a take-home snack matters more than eating something freshly served.
- Choose by texture preference if you already know whether you prefer a churro or a donut bite. No sourced head-to-head tasting establishes which tastes better, and individual impressions are subjective.
- Compare nutrition only for the exact items when a calorie or ingredient comparison matters to you. The available churro figures are not consistent enough to support a dependable churro-versus-donut calorie verdict.
What the evidence does—and does not—establish
Costco’s listing supports the serving and nutrition details for its packaged churro donut bites. Quartz provides current secondary reporting on the food-court return, price and variable rollout; the reported return is limited-time, with no end date given. The available sources do not establish a current, primary-label calorie figure for the returning churro, a comparable label for a named conventional cinnamon-sugar donut, or a controlled taste comparison between the treats.
