Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems2Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute3Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsWhen iCUE cannot see a Corsair device on a Windows 11 PC, work through the problem in this order: confirm a direct USB connection, repair the iCUE installation, and only then consider a profile-backed clean reinstall. Corsair’s support guidance follows that same sequence. It is a troubleshooting path, not a guaranteed fix. If the device stays missing after these steps, Corsair directs you to its support team.
Start with a direct USB connection
Corsair’s guide to fixing device detection after an iCUE update opens with the simplest hardware check: make sure the device is connected straight to a USB port on the computer. Unplug it from any hub, switch, dock, or pass-through and connect it directly. If it still does not appear, try a different port on the PC.

Wireless devices need one extra step during firmware work. Connect both the device and its dongle directly to the computer rather than through an adapter or hub.

Repair iCUE from Windows 11 Installed Apps
If the direct connection does not help, repair the iCUE installation instead of reinstalling it. This uses the built-in repair option in Windows 11, which Corsair’s “iCUE 5: Resolve issues with Device Detection” article describes.
- Open Settings, then go to Apps > Installed apps.
- Find iCUE in the list, select the three-dot menu beside it, and choose Modify.
- Follow the installer prompts and allow the repair to finish.
- Open iCUE and check whether the device is listed.
- If the device is still missing, run the repair again. Corsair notes that the repair sometimes has to be done more than once before the device is detected.
“Note: Sometimes the repair will need to be done multiple times before the device can be detected again.” (Corsair Support, “iCUE 5: Resolve issues with Device Detection”)
When detection broke right after an iCUE update
An update-related failure has its own Corsair article, and it follows the same order: direct connection, repair, clean reinstall, then support. Before changing anything else, record the iCUE version and the device’s firmware version. Corsair’s guide “How to verify Your iCUE Version and Firmware Version” (updated April 8, 2026) explains where to find both.

Check for firmware only after the device is connected directly and is detected reliably. Corsair’s “Updating device firmware” guide (updated July 15, 2026) covers the update process and expects a stable direct connection throughout.
When the device disappears at startup or after sleep
USB power management is the one area where settings changes are relevant, and only for this symptom. Corsair identifies USB selective suspend as a possible cause when a device is not detected at startup or after the PC wakes from sleep. Its guidance on this symptom, “What to do if your Corsair device is not detected on startup or after waking from Sleep Mode,” describes disabling USB selective suspend or allowing the device to wake the computer.
Do not apply these changes to a device that is never detected or that fails after an update. Those cases are covered by the repair steps above.

- Smart Tunable Weight System: CORSAIR-exclusive software automatically detects the mouse’s center of gravity in real time, allowing you to adjust weight between 119g and 141g and fine-tune balance to perfectly fit your grip.
- CORSAIR’S Most Advanced Optical Sensor Yet: A custom Pixart PMW3391 native 18,000 DPI optical sensor, adjustable in 1 DPI resolution steps, gives you total sensitivity customization and ultra-accurate tracking.
- Professional Comfort: Built with a contoured shape that naturally fits your hand, with high-performance rubber grips inspired by pro sports equipment.
- Ten Fully Programmable Buttons: Customize your gaming with the in-game advantage of powerful macros and key remaps.
- Precise Weight Calibration: Two sets of weights and six mounting locations offer 120 different weight and balance configurations.
- Open Control Panel > Hardware and Sound > Power Options.
- Next to your active power plan, select Change plan settings, then Change advanced power settings.
- Expand USB settings > USB selective suspend setting.
- Set both On battery and Plugged in to Disabled, then select OK.
- To reverse the change, set both options back to Enabled and select OK.
On a laptop, keeping USB selective suspend disabled can increase power use, so reverse the change once the startup or wake problem is resolved or ruled out.
Quick wins for a faster PC:
Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesFind Drivers →Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsFree Scan →Clean reinstall when repair fails
A clean reinstall removes the existing iCUE installation and installs a fresh copy. Because the process can remove settings, back up profiles first. Corsair’s clean reinstallation guide, updated June 18, 2026, states: “Before uninstalling, make sure to back up any profiles you want to keep.”
- Export every profile you want to keep from iCUE and store the files outside the iCUE folder.
- Uninstall iCUE from Settings > Apps > Installed apps.
- Delete only the Corsair-related leftover files named in Corsair’s clean reinstallation procedure. Do not remove unrelated folders.
- Restart the PC.
- Install a fresh copy of iCUE, then import your saved profiles.
A clean reinstall does not always resolve detection problems. If the device is still missing afterward, move on to the escalation steps below.

Non-Corsair devices and third-party integrations
iCUE can control some non-Corsair products, such as motherboard or peripheral lighting, through partner software development kits and APIs. Corsair’s article “Understanding Non-CORSAIR Device Compatibility with iCUE” (updated August 13, 2025) notes that these integrations depend on the partner, and that supported devices and behavior can change. If a non-Corsair device is missing from iCUE, check the current software and firmware guidance from the motherboard or device maker before assuming an iCUE fault.

Windows 11 and compatibility
Corsair’s “iCUE: Compatibility and installation requirements” page lists Windows 10 64-bit or newer. Windows 11 therefore falls within that stated requirement. The requirement applies to iCUE as a whole. It does not confirm that every individual product or third-party integration is supported on a given Windows build.

Firmware update failures
If a firmware update fails, Corsair’s “What to do if a firmware update fails” guide suggests three checks before retrying:
- Try another USB port on the PC.
- Install pending Windows updates and chipset updates.
- Close competing RGB or hardware-monitoring applications that may be controlling the same device.
Quick reference by symptom
| Symptom | Start with | Next step | Escalate when |
|---|---|---|---|
| Device never detected | Direct USB connection, then iCUE repair | Profile-backed clean reinstall | Repair and reinstall do not restore detection |
| Detection broke after an iCUE update | Direct USB connection, then record iCUE and firmware versions | iCUE repair, then clean reinstall | Device still missing after the update-related steps |
| Missing at startup or after sleep | USB selective suspend setting | Wake setting for the device, if needed | Device still missing after power changes are reversed or retained as appropriate |
| Firmware update fails | Another USB port, Windows and chipset updates | Close competing RGB or monitoring applications, then retry | Firmware update keeps failing |
| Non-Corsair product missing from iCUE | Current partner software and firmware guidance | Confirm compatibility with the device maker | Basic iCUE functionality or setup questions remain |
What to gather before contacting Corsair Support
Corsair directs users to customer support when detection remains unresolved after the repair and reinstall steps. Have the following information ready:
- The iCUE version and device firmware version
- The device model and connection type (direct USB, wireless dongle, or a hub or dock)
- Whether the problem began after an iCUE update, or happens at startup or after sleep
- The steps you have already tried, including how many times the repair was run
- Whether the device appears in Windows or works outside iCUE
Corsair support does not guarantee a fix for every detection failure, and some causes lie outside iCUE. A device that is missing in Windows itself may point to a hardware or driver issue that a support agent will need to assess.
