It does not establish that both numbers represent the same layout quantity, such as line height, bounding-box height, or available drawing space. Without the article’s implementation and configuration, the difference cannot identify a CoreText defect or a particular Chinese-text rendering issue.

The title supplies symptoms, not reproduction steps or a fix. For an independent case with the same apparent symptoms, gather enough detail to compare the measurement with the actual rendering and to verify what the export pipeline produced.

Record the text-layout inputs
- Note the platform, OS and SDK versions, font and font size, and the complete attributed-string settings used for the Chinese caption.
- Record the exact measurement API, its units, and which quantity it returns. Do not treat a reported point value as a rendered height or required canvas size until its meaning is clear.
- Save the available width, line-breaking and truncation settings, and any paragraph or writing-direction attributes that affect layout.
Compare measured bounds with rendered output
- Use the same string, font, attributes, and available width for measurement and drawing; otherwise, the two results may describe different layouts.
- Inspect the measured text bounds alongside the drawing rectangle and output canvas dimensions. Check that the drawing rectangle is positioned within the canvas and has sufficient space for the layout being drawn.
- Test the same inputs in the destination format and rendering path. A measurement alone does not establish that text was drawn into the exported artifact.
Verify the export result, not just its status
- Capture the export API’s completion status and error details, then inspect the resulting file or data rather than treating a success indication as proof that the output contains visible content.
- Check whether the output has the expected dimensions and whether the drawing operation actually ran. A blank result is a symptom; the accessible report does not establish its cause.
- Keep a minimal reproducible example with the exact caption, layout settings, rendering code, and export path. This makes it possible to determine whether the discrepancy is in text measurement, drawing, or export handling.
