To turn a photo already saved on a Samsung Galaxy phone or tablet into a PDF, open it in Gallery, tap More options, and choose Print if that option appears. Select Save as PDF, tap the PDF button, choose where to save the file, and tap Save. You do not need a printer. If Gallery does not show Print, try another supported app or add the picture to Samsung Notes and export the note as a PDF.
Method 1: Save a Gallery picture as a PDF
- Open the picture in Gallery.
- Tap More options (usually the three-dot menu) and look for Print. Samsung says Gallery’s More options menu may include this action, but its availability can differ by app and software version. See Samsung’s Gallery guide.
- In the print screen, tap Select printer and choose Save as PDF.
- Tap the PDF icon or button, select a folder, and tap Save.
The PDF is saved to the location you selected. Samsung’s print workflow is designed to save supported content as a PDF instead of sending it to a physical printer; printer setup is not required. The exact controls can vary across Galaxy devices and app versions. Samsung’s Galaxy printing guide describes the steps and notes that not every app supports printing.

If Print is missing from Gallery
There is no single Print menu guaranteed across every Gallery build or image-viewing app. Try opening the picture in another app that supports printing and look for Share > Print, or check the app’s More options menu for Print. If no suitable print action is available, use Samsung Notes to make and export a PDF.
Method 2: Add the picture to Samsung Notes and export it
This route is useful when you want a title, notes, annotations, or multiple pictures on a page rather than a straightforward PDF copy of one image.

- Create a note in Samsung Notes and add the picture from Gallery.
- Arrange the image and add any text or other content you need.
- Open the note, tap More options (three vertical dots), then choose Save as file > PDF file.
- Select a folder, tap Done, then name and save the PDF.
Samsung also supports sharing a note as a PDF. Its Notes PDF export guide says notes can be exported as PDF files. Menu names and feature availability may depend on the Samsung Notes version. Check the exported PDF before sending it: the note’s page layout may not preserve the original picture’s proportions.
Method 3: Photograph a paper document, then make a PDF
If by “picture” you mean a document that is still on paper, first capture it with the Camera’s document scanning feature. Samsung says the scanned image is saved in Gallery; you can then add it to Samsung Notes and export the note as a PDF. This is a capture-and-export workflow, unlike converting an existing image file. Where is Save as PDF on Samsung?
It appears in the system print screen. Open a picture in an app with a Print action, start printing through Share > Print or the app’s More options > Print, then tap Select printer and choose Save as PDF.
Do I need a printer or printer plug-in?
No. Choose Save as PDF instead of a physical printer. A printer connection is only relevant if you want a paper copy.

What if the menus look different?
Samsung notes that printing is not supported by every app, and menu placement can vary by device, software, and app version. Try the other print entry point—Share or More options—or use the Samsung Notes export route if Print is unavailable.
