You can control a Daikin air conditioner with a smartphone only if the exact system has compatible connectivity. Many supported ductless models use a wireless LAN adapter and the Daikin Comfort Control app; other systems use a compatible Daikin smart thermostat and its app. Check your model, installed control hardware, and region before downloading an app or buying an adapter.
First identify the control route your Daikin system supports
Daikin does not use one universal smartphone-control setup. The right route depends on the indoor-unit model, whether it has a wireless LAN adapter or a connected thermostat, and the app available in your country.

- Find the indoor-unit model number. Check the unit’s label or its documentation. If the system has multiple indoor units, identify which unit and control arrangement you want to operate. Note your country or region too.
- Check the control hardware and manual. Look for a wireless LAN adapter or Wi-Fi indicator, then consult the exact model’s manual. Connectivity may be built in on one model and require a model-specific optional accessory on another. If your system is controlled by a Daikin smart thermostat, check that thermostat’s compatibility and setup instructions instead.
- Use the app specified for that route. The cited ductless manuals name Daikin Comfort Control for supported wireless LAN adapter models. Daikin describes SkyportHome for Daikin smart thermostats, while its North American homeowner materials use the name Daikin One Home. These are distinct app paths; confirm the current app and its availability for your region before proceeding.
For commercial systems, Daikin documents a separate DKN Cloud Wi-Fi Adapter for certain indoor units. Do not assume a residential app or adapter applies to commercial equipment; check the applicable Daikin commercial control information and your system documentation.

Connect a supported wireless LAN adapter with Daikin Comfort Control
The following sequence reflects the adapter setup documented for certain Daikin ductless model families, not every Daikin air conditioner. Follow your unit’s own manual for button presses, indicator lights, and any model-specific requirements. The Atmosphera manual, for example, describes joining a DaikinAP network before configuring the home router connection; that example is not a universal setup procedure.

- Confirm the adapter and its credentials. Check the manual to verify that your unit supports a wireless LAN adapter and whether it is built in or an optional accessory. Locate the adapter’s SSID and KEY on the serial-number sticker or the unit/accessory materials, as specified by Daikin documentation. Do not order an external adapter until the exact model’s requirements are clear.
- Prepare the network and device. You need a smartphone or tablet, internet service, a modem/router or other communicating device, and a wireless LAN access point. Make sure the router is powered and you know its network name and password.
- Put the adapter into wireless setup mode. Use the remote-control or adapter procedure in your model’s manual. Button combinations differ, so do not copy a sequence from another model.
- Join the adapter network on your phone. Open the phone’s Wi-Fi settings, select the SSID printed on the unit or adapter, and enter its matching KEY.
- Give the adapter your home Wi-Fi details. Open Daikin Comfort Control and choose “Configure the wireless connection.” Select your home router’s network and enter its password when prompted.
- Check the connection and finish in the app. Wait for the adapter lamp to reach the status described in your manual. Then return the phone to your home Wi-Fi network and complete any login or account steps the app requests for your model.
Daikin’s Atmosphera operation manual gives one model-specific example in which the adapter lamp changes from blinking to steadily lit after setup. Use your own manual’s indicator guidance rather than treating that light pattern as universal.
If your system uses a Daikin smart thermostat
Do not follow the ductless adapter steps above if your air conditioner is controlled through a supported Daikin smart thermostat. Daikin’s North American homeowner materials describe smartphone control through Daikin One Home, and Daikin describes SkyportHome as an app designed for its smart thermostats. The Daikin One+ product information says it communicates with nearly all Daikin ducted and ductless HVAC systems; “nearly all” does not mean every system. Check the exact thermostat, HVAC system, app, and region before relying on compatibility.

Use the instructions for the thermostat already installed in your home. If you are considering a new thermostat, verify system compatibility and installation requirements first. Daikin’s Daikin One thermostat information and the SkyportHome app page describe these thermostat-related paths.

Troubleshoot Wi-Fi setup problems
- The phone cannot connect to the adapter network: Recheck that you selected the exact SSID printed on the unit or adapter and entered its matching KEY.
- The adapter does not connect to the home router: Confirm the router or access point is powered, then check that you selected the correct network name and entered its password accurately.
- The RUN lamp keeps blinking: A Daikin engineering manual advises checking router power, network name, and password if the RUN lamp continues blinking for a minute or longer. Indicator behavior can differ by model, so check the manual for your unit.
- Setup remains unsuccessful: Use the reset procedure documented for your exact model, then repeat its setup instructions. Reset methods are not necessarily the same across model families.
- You cannot find an app or adapter for your model: Do not guess at a compatible accessory. Ask a local Daikin distributor or qualified contractor to identify a supported control option. Daikin’s after-sales service page directs customers to local support.
Protect credentials and use remote control carefully
Keep the adapter’s SSID and KEY, router credentials, and app login information private. Daikin’s FTXM-V operation manual warns that wireless transmissions can be vulnerable to eavesdropping or unauthorized access.

Remote operation cannot show you the people, surroundings, or conditions in your home. Before operating the air conditioner from away, check timers and relevant conditions, and keep track of the system’s status. These cautions come from the cited manual and apply to the equipment it documents; follow the safety guidance for your own model.
