Start Urban Survival in the Evacuation Zone
After reaching the Evacuation Zone, look for the Investigation Order note outside the parking garage entrance and read it to begin the side quest. The walkthroughs from PowerPyx and 16 Bit World both place the start here.

Follow the traps to the Survivalist
- Follow the trail of traps through the parking-garage area toward the street and building to the south.
- Use the intercom at the building. Defeat the Hiss that appear, then interact with the intercom again to continue the conversation.
Retrieve the two family objects
Find Granny, the urn
Head to the northeast apartment building and enter from the rooftop. Search the accessible apartment for the urn, referred to as Granny.
Find Olivia, the potted plant
Go to the gym along the main road. Clear any Hiss in the way, then search the back or office area for Olivia, a potted plant. The guides differ on the precise room description, so use the gym and its rear area as the landmarks rather than relying on a specific room name.

Return the urn and plant
Take both objects back to the Survivalist’s building and place them on the table beside the intercom. Speak through the intercom again to move the quest forward.
Use the keyfob to find the apartment and photo
- Collect the car keyfob from the adjacent room after the intercom conversation.
- Use the keyfob to locate the car in the northeast area and retrieve the apartment key.
- Enter the apartment building and make your way to the apartment. Pick up the photo lying on the floor; that is the memento the Survivalist wants. His brother has been turned Hiss.
- Return to the Survivalist’s building and speak through the intercom. After the conversation, place the photo on the table to finish the quest.
Urban Survival rewards
PowerPyx and 16 Bit World list the Plate Carrier M1 outfit piece and the Untapped Heart Monitor Artifact as rewards. 16 Bit World reports that the artifact grants one free respawn when Dylan would otherwise die; this is the guide’s stated effect, not an independently tested result.

Where Urban Survival fits in the game
Urban Survival is a side quest in the Evacuation Zone. PowerPyx describes the main questlines as Contain the Crisis, Search for Jesse, and Defeating Resonants, and notes that quests can be tackled in varying order. Its suggested zone order is Downtown, Central, Evacuation Zone, West Incursion Zone, Underpass, then The Unknown, with The Park optional; that is a recommendation from the guide, not a required sequence.
