The official notes do not state the current price or provide a complete reset-menu sequence, so check the game’s current UI for the cost and interaction prompts rather than relying on a guessed number. A weak-feeling build may also need a targeted adjustment—or a change to combat settings—rather than a full reset.
How respeccing works
Remedy’s hotfix 1.3.3 support notes identify Reset Items as the currency used to respec. The update permanently reduced the cost of respeccing and increased Reset Item stock across all vendors. It also changed The Artist, described as the first Resonant boss, to drop two Reset Items instead of one.

What to check before resetting
First identify what feels weak. Low damage, poor survivability, difficulty controlling groups, and running short of ability resource are different problems; changing the wrong upgrade may not address the one you have.

Check what contributes to Build Power
Remedy’s updated English UI definition says Build Power is calculated from unlocked Combat Abilities, Aberrant forms and upgrades, Talents, and Core Upgrades. That is a broader checklist than equipped weapon forms alone. Review all four categories when diagnosing the build.
Check whether the build pieces support each other
Remedy describes three core build pillars: supernatural Combat Abilities, Aberrant Weapon Forms, and Talents. Weapon Forms include Primary and Secondary Forms and Combo Enders; Talents can strengthen the relationship between abilities and melee attacks. Resonant bosses award abilities, and some choices branch toward different playstyles. Remedy also notes that not everything can be unlocked in one playthrough, so a setup can be specialized rather than universally complete.
Ask whether your selected abilities suit the encounters you find difficult, and whether your forms and Talents support how you create openings and spend resources. This is a diagnostic framework, not a claim that one combination is best.

Match the adjustment to the problem
If ability resource runs out
Remedy’s described combat loop links melee hits to Combat Ability resource recovery: abilities can stun enemies and open them to executions, and executions temporarily boost melee damage. If you spend abilities without returning to melee, you may not sustain that loop. Remedy also describes tactical play with summons such as Mold Turrets, so close-range aggression is not the only intended approach.
Consider whether the issue is resource recovery or a mismatch between how you play and the abilities, forms, and Talents you chose. If the friction is specifically slow recovery, Assist Mode offers a Power Recovery Speed control.
If fights feel punishing or you struggle to create openings
Remedy’s Assist Mode can adjust individual combat mechanics, and Lead Gameplay Designer Sergey Mohov says, “You can enable or disable Assist Mode at any point during gameplay.” Available controls include Incoming Damage, Outgoing Damage, Outgoing Falter (how quickly enemy posture breaks), enemy aggression, Perfect Dodge Window, projectile speed, Power Recovery Speed, and Enhanced Melee Magnetizing. Presets can be fine-tuned, and Remedy says trophies and achievements are not gated behind Assist Mode.

Adjust the setting that corresponds to the problem—for example, Outgoing Falter if you want enemies to break posture sooner, or Incoming Damage if surviving hits is the obstacle. These options let you change combat difficulty without reallocating upgrades.
Experimenting with builds in New Game Plus
Remedy says New Game Plus preserves Aberrant upgrades, health and Combat Ability resource improvements, unlocked supernatural Combat Abilities, Talents, and Artifacts. Traversal abilities do not carry over because they remain tied to story progression. NG+ also lets players equip multiple different Combat Abilities from the same boss, creating combinations beyond the first-run setup.
That added flexibility can support further experimentation, but Remedy does not describe NG+ as a free general respec or say that it makes every first-run choice reversible.

Compare builds by what they do
Remedy’s Xbox preview describes different possible roles, including a close-range melee setup and a summons-and-turret crowd-control setup. It presents these as distinct approaches, not a ranking of which is strongest. When deciding whether a change fits your needs, compare the build on the dimensions that matter to you:
- Close-range damage and speed.
- Combat Ability resource recovery and uptime.
- Crowd control and how readily the setup creates stuns and executions.
- Survivability and defensive utility.
- How well Weapon Forms, Combat Abilities, and Talents work together.
These are useful comparison criteria, not a tested verdict on any specific combination.
