Clear the Warehouse and speak with Wilson to reach the AVP-3 decision. The evidence chain is easy to stall if you use only one computer or miss the Dig Site ID card.
Start the investigation in Central
The walkthroughs place the investigation around the Field Office or Field Base in Central. One describes Level 1 clearance and reporting a dead researcher in the Field Hospital to Zoe by radio; another frames reaching Central as the requirement and starts the route west of the Field Office. If the objective does not appear, check the Field Hospital and nearby loading-dock clues rather than assuming the mission has failed.

Collect the evidence in the field
Inspect the Loading Docks
Examine the blinking security camera in the Loading Docks. You will later need to retrieve its surveillance footage from a Security Station computer, so the camera interaction is a separate part of the evidence chain.

Search the Dig Site
Report the body and collect Wilson’s ID card. Use the card to open the elevated container and take the Threshold Site Recording. Walkthroughs use different names for some items here: one calls out Wilson’s ID and the recording, while another mentions a Mobile Research Station Keycard and a nearby recording or note. Follow the objective log’s displayed item names, but make sure you have collected the ID and recording before moving on.

Check the Field Hospital storage
Inspect the body at the Field Hospital if the objective requires it, and note the locked storage. The guides variously describe this as a locker or a green Archive Cabinet, so use the location and appearance rather than relying on a single label. You cannot open it until you find its code.
Use both computers at the Security Station
The two Security Station computers advance different objectives: one provides the code for the Field Hospital storage, and the other contains Loading Docks CCTV footage. Interact with both machines and cycle through their screens or prompts until the relevant objectives update. Leaving after using only one terminal is a common reason the investigation remains incomplete.
Unlock the storage and find Wilson

Return to the Field Hospital and use the code obtained from the Security Station computer to open the locked locker or cabinet.

Collect the evidence inside and check that the mission log advances.

Spoilers: AVP-3 choice and reported rewards
For the reward route described by the walkthroughs, believe Wilson and choose to host or carry AVP-3 yourself. Then return to the yellow-marked area at the Dig Site Threshold and complete the transfer. The guides associate this route with the Sensory Restraint Hood outfit and the Untapped Practice Knot artifact recipe. These are walkthrough-reported outcomes, not rewards confirmed in the official material cited here.

Field Hospital storage is still locked: Use the code terminal at the Security Station, then return to the hospital.

What to know about this mission
Crossing the Threshold is a Central side investigation built around a sequence of evidence interactions: reporting bodies, examining the camera, collecting the Dig Site ID and recording, retrieving CCTV and a code from separate computers, and opening the Field Hospital storage. Official game information describes CONTROL Resonant as featuring large zones with side activities and optional discoveries, but does not publish this mission route. The route and reward outcome above are reported by independent walkthroughs.
The official PlayStation US listing identifies the game as a PS5 release from Remedy Entertainment Ltd. and gives September 24, 2026 as its release date. Remedy’s February 13, 2026 gameplay announcement describes Dylan Faden, large zones and gravity anomalies; neither official source supplies mission-specific instructions for Crossing the Threshold.
