It is worth considering if you want pointer control directly in front of you instead of beside the keyboard—but the available documentation establishes its features and setup, not how comfortable or responsive it feels in extended use.
What Contour Touch offers
Contour describes Touch as a touch surface that can register taps and mechanical clicks, with support for standard Windows actions such as scrolling, panning and zooming. It can be positioned between the keyboard and the user, with a wrist rest and physical buttons for shortcuts. The product comes in wired and wireless versions, and Contour’s software can assign button actions such as undo, redo and user-defined macros. Buttons can also be disabled, and the software can update firmware.

That feature set makes the Touch a distinct option for someone who prefers a touchpad over a mouse or wants a centered pointer surface. It does not establish tracking quality, build quality, long-session comfort or an advantage over other pointing devices; those require firsthand evaluation.
Compatibility and connection options
Contour lists Windows 10 and Windows 11 as supported. The available manufacturer documentation does not establish compatibility with macOS or Linux, so do not assume either system will work.

Will you have to relearn how to use a computer?
Contour says the Touch works like a traditional touchpad, so the basic interaction is familiar to people already accustomed to touch surfaces. Its launch announcement describes taps and mechanical clicks as well as standard Windows multi-finger actions. That is a manufacturer description, not confirmation that every Windows gesture works on this particular device.

Microsoft’s Windows touch-gesture guide covers tapping to select, two-finger scrolling, pinch-to-zoom, right-clicking with two fingers or the lower-right corner, and three- or four-finger gestures for navigating windows and desktops. Microsoft notes that some gestures require a Precision Touchpad. The reviewed Contour materials do not independently establish that classification, so check the gestures you rely on rather than assuming full support.

How to position it on a desk
Contour’s setup guidance recommends aligning the keyboard’s H key, the center of the Touch, the monitor and the user’s body. Keep the keyboard close, and leave enough distance from the desk edge for forearm support. The company also recommends relaxed shoulders, elbows near the body, forearms parallel to the floor and straight wrists. These are manufacturer placement suggestions, not proof of a medical or comfort benefit.
Contour says the included SnapLinks can attach the Touch to its Balance Full-Size Keyboard to help with alignment and stability. The documentation identifies that specific keyboard pairing; it does not establish SnapLink compatibility with other keyboards.

What to verify before buying
Contour’s product listing showed a price of $119 and an “Out of stock” status in the search result available for this review. Those are observations from that listing, not a guarantee of current price or availability. Check the live product page before purchase.
- Confirm that your computer runs Windows 10 or 11 and decide whether you want USB or Bluetooth.
- Check that your keyboard layout and desk leave room to center the Touch and support your forearms.
- If you depend on particular multi-finger gestures, verify they work in your Windows setup rather than relying on a general gesture list.
- If you want the SnapLink mounting arrangement, note that Contour documents it for the Balance Full-Size Keyboard.
- Try the touch surface and buttons if possible: the available sources do not establish their feel, comfort over time or value against alternatives.
Who should consider Contour Touch?
It is a plausible candidate for a Windows user who specifically wants a centered touchpad, physical shortcut buttons and a wrist-supporting surface, and whose desk and keyboard can accommodate that position. The documented Windows support and connection choices make setup relatively clear, but whether it is a worthwhile purchase depends on individual fit and feel—points the available manufacturer materials cannot settle.
