A WordPress inquiry form is more useful when its answers land on the right Copper contact record—not just in an email inbox. Copper documents Outfunnel integrations for Contact Form 7 and Gravity Forms, plus its own Copper Forms and a separate Zapier route. The right choice depends on whether you want to keep your existing form, use Copper’s form builder, or automate across other apps.
How can you connect a WordPress contact form to Copper CRM?
If your site already uses Contact Form 7 or Gravity Forms, Copper lists an integration for each through Outfunnel. Both documented routes can create or match contacts by email, map form fields, and log submissions as activity on a contact’s timeline. Their listings also describe website visitor or source information, though the details vary by route and setup.

Copper lists both integrations as available on its Professional and Business plans. The Gravity Forms listing also says availability depends on the Gravity Forms plan, so check eligibility on both sides and confirm current provider terms before setting up.

Contact Form 7 with Outfunnel
Copper’s Contact Form 7 integration listing describes syncing new WordPress submissions to Copper with Outfunnel. If the email address is new, the integration creates a contact; if Copper finds a matching email, the submission is recorded against that contact. You can map form fields, view sync status, and capture landing page, referrer, and UTM data for new leads.

Gravity Forms with Outfunnel
Copper’s Gravity Forms integration listing documents a similar workflow: create or match a contact by email, map fields, and add submission activity to the contact timeline. It also describes visitor and source information. Check the current Gravity Forms plan requirements as well as Copper’s listed Professional and Business availability.
What happens when someone submits the form?
The important difference from a notification-only workflow is that mapped answers and submission activity can be associated with a CRM record. That gives a teammate a place to review the inquiry and follow up. It does not mean every route handles matching contacts or source data identically.
- New email: The documented Contact Form 7 and Gravity Forms routes can create a Copper contact when no matching email is found.
- Existing email: Those Outfunnel listings describe matching by email and associating the submission with the existing contact.
- Mapped answers: Choose which form fields should populate Copper fields; the listings also describe recording a submission in the contact’s activity history.
- Source context: Contact Form 7’s listing names landing page, referrer, and UTM data for new leads. The Gravity Forms listing describes visitor and source information; confirm the exact fields available for your configuration.
What if you would rather not use the Outfunnel route?
Use Copper Forms
Copper’s Forms guidance describes forms that can be embedded on a page or displayed as a widget. Answers can map to Copper fields, and completed forms are recorded in contact activity. If a submission email matches an existing contact, Copper does not create another contact or update that contact’s name; it records the submission in activity history and notifies the account owner. This option makes sense if you are open to using Copper’s form rather than preserving your WordPress plugin.

Copper also documents a Zapier integration route for connecting Copper with supported apps. Its documentation lists form services such as Gravity Forms, Wufoo, Jotform, and Typeform. The available triggers, actions, and plan requirements can change, so verify the current Zapier app details for the workflow you need. Copper’s Help Center describes connecting through an integration-specific token.

Which route fits your WordPress site?
| Route | Good starting point | Documented capabilities | Check first |

| Gravity Forms + Outfunnel | Your site already uses Gravity Forms | Field mapping, activity logging, email matching, and visitor/source information | Copper and Gravity Forms plan availability, current Outfunnel terms, and the source fields you need |

Setup checklist: confirm the workflow before relying on it
Use these checks after choosing a route. They are implementation guidance, not a claim that a particular setup has been tested.
- Verify plan access. Check the current Copper integration listing and, for Gravity Forms, the form-provider plan details. Confirm any Outfunnel or Zapier requirements directly with the provider.
- Map only the fields you need. Decide which answers should become Copper fields and which information should remain in the submission activity.
- Confirm the email match field. The documented contact matching for the Outfunnel routes uses email. Make sure the form collects the address your team expects to use for matching.
- Submit a test with a new email. Check whether a contact is created and whether the mapped answers and submission activity appear as intended.
- Submit a test with an existing contact’s email. Inspect that contact’s timeline and confirm how the new submission is handled.
- Check source attribution and sync status. Where source tracking is configured, inspect the available landing-page, referrer, UTM, or visitor information and resolve any sync issue shown by the integration.
How to choose
Keep Contact Form 7 or Gravity Forms when the existing WordPress form and its workflow matter; use the corresponding Outfunnel route if its current plans and terms fit. Consider Copper Forms when you want Copper’s own form builder and its documented matching behavior works for your process. Choose Zapier when the requirement is a broader cross-app automation and the needed app actions are currently available.
