Random freezes, missing sound and display glitches usually trace back to one bad driver. Find and replace yours safely.Free scan · under a minuteTo connect a JBL speaker to a Samsung TV, put the speaker in Bluetooth pairing mode, then select it from the TV’s Bluetooth Speaker List under Sound Output. This works only if your TV supports Bluetooth audio; menu names and JBL pairing controls vary by model.
Pair the JBL speaker with your Samsung TV
- Put the JBL speaker in pairing mode. On many JBL speakers, press and release the Bluetooth button; some models require holding it for a few seconds. A sound or blinking light may indicate pairing mode. If those actions do not work, check the manual for your exact speaker model. JBL’s pairing guidance notes that controls vary by model.
- Open the TV’s sound-output menu. On many Samsung Smart TVs, press Home and go to Settings > Sound > Sound Output > Bluetooth Speaker List. Some versions place Sound under All Settings. Samsung menu labels and screens differ by model and software.
- Select the JBL speaker. Choose its name when it appears in the Bluetooth Speaker List and confirm pairing if prompted. Keep the speaker near the TV while connecting.
- Check the active output. If sound still comes from the TV, return to Sound Output and select the JBL speaker. Some supported Samsung TVs also provide Multi-output Audio to play sound through both the TV and a Bluetooth device.
Samsung’s external-speaker setup guide and Bluetooth speaker instructions describe the pairing route, while noting that availability and menus vary.

If the Samsung TV cannot find or connect to the speaker
- Check TV compatibility. Bluetooth audio support depends on the specific Samsung TV. Check that model’s specifications; the presence of a Bluetooth menu on another Samsung model does not guarantee yours has the same feature.
- Re-enter pairing mode. Confirm the JBL is discoverable rather than merely powered on. Try the model’s documented pairing-button action.
- Bring the devices closer. Move the speaker near the TV, then rescan or refresh the Bluetooth list if that control is available.
- Clear an old pairing and retry. Remove or disconnect the stale JBL entry from the TV’s Bluetooth device list, then search for it and pair again.
- Check Multi-output Audio. If sound comes from both the TV and speaker, inspect this setting. Some compatible Samsung TVs may enable it when Bluetooth audio is connected; its availability and behavior depend on the TV.
Bluetooth limitations and other connection options
Bluetooth may introduce lip-sync delay, dropouts when devices are too far apart, or interference. Samsung identifies these as possible issues, not inevitable results. If delay or disconnections are unacceptable, Samsung also documents optical and HDMI ARC/eARC audio connections. Those alternatives work only when the TV and the exact JBL model both have the matching input and output ports; do not assume a portable Bluetooth speaker has them. Samsung also notes that an optical jack is not present on every TV. See its connection guidance and Bluetooth troubleshooting details.
What to expect from compatibility
Samsung’s US guidance says a TV may connect to one Bluetooth audio device at a time and warns of possible compatibility issues, lip-sync errors, range-related disconnections, and radio interference. These are model- and environment-dependent risks, not guaranteed problems. Confirm Bluetooth audio support on your TV and the pairing procedure for your speaker before troubleshooting beyond the steps above.
