The right compact home printer depends on what “compact” means for you: a device that stores neatly in a small space, a battery-powered printer you can carry, or a portable model that also scans and copies. For print-focused portability, consider the Canon PIXMA TR150 or Epson WorkForce WF-110 family; if scanning and copying are essential, the HP OfficeJet 250 is the all-in-one candidate in the current comparison. Check the exact regional model and configuration before buying: dimensions, battery inclusion, connectivity, and consumables can vary.
Which compact printer suits your needs?
| Model | Best fit | What the available evidence establishes | What to verify before purchase |
|---|---|---|---|
| Canon PIXMA TR150 | Portable, print-focused use at home or away from an outlet | Canon’s U.S. support page lists wireless printing, document and photo printing, AirPrint, Mopria, and the Canon PRINT app. It is not presented here as an all-in-one with a scanner. | Dimensions, whether the local bundle includes a battery, cartridge identifiers, and the specifications for your regional model. |
| Epson WorkForce WF-110 / WF-110W | Portable, print-focused use where a small wireless A4 inkjet is suitable | Epson UK lists the WF-110W as a wireless A4 inkjet and gives manufacturer-stated speed and yield figures. Epson’s U.S. listing identifies a WF-110 Wireless Mobile Printer and says it is designed for Epson cartridges. | Regional model and bundle, battery configuration, cartridge names, supported paper and connectivity details, and local availability. |
| HP OfficeJet 250 | Portable printing when scanning and copying in the same device matter | Digital Camera World’s compact-printer guide describes it as a portable all-in-one with scanning and copying. | Confirm its current footprint, included battery configuration, cartridges, and feature support with the manufacturer for your exact regional listing. |
These models serve different jobs, so a single “best” ranking would conceal the most important trade-off. The TR150 and WF-110 family are print-focused portable inkjets; the OfficeJet 250 is the all-in-one option in the cited comparison. The evidence here does not establish current prices, regional stock, or a cost-per-page winner.

How to tell whether a printer is compact enough
Do not judge fit by the stored dimensions alone. A printer may need extra clearance while paper feeds and exits, and a mobile model may be light enough to carry yet awkward to leave permanently set up on a narrow shelf. Measure the space where you will store it and the space available when printing, including room to open paper paths and reach controls.

Before comparing dimensions or weight, check the manufacturer’s current specification for the exact regional model. The Canon TR150 manual provides a specifications page, but battery bundle details and cartridge identifiers should be confirmed against the current local product listing. Epson’s UK and U.S. product pages refer to different regional listings, so do not assume they describe identical bundles or consumables.

Print-only portability or an all-in-one?
Choose print-focused portability for documents and photos
The Canon PIXMA TR150 and Epson WorkForce WF-110 family are the more direct candidates if you mainly need to print and want a portable format. Canon’s U.S. support page lists document and photo printing along with wireless and mobile-print features. Epson UK describes the WF-110W as a single-function printer. Neither should be treated as a scanner or copier based on the evidence here.
Choose an all-in-one when scanning and copying are part of the job
The HP OfficeJet 250 is the candidate to investigate if you need scanning and copying as well as printing. That description comes from Digital Camera World’s guide, not a manufacturer specification page in the available sources. Verify the exact features, dimensions, and power configuration directly with the manufacturer before relying on them.

Wireless printing, power, and mobility
For a shared home printer, check that the devices you actually use can connect through a supported method. Canon’s U.S. support page lists wireless printing, AirPrint, Mopria, and the Canon PRINT app for the TR150. Those details are specific to the cited U.S. support listing; verify compatibility for your devices and region.
Portability also depends on power, not just weight. Confirm whether the particular listing includes a battery, sells it separately, or expects the printer to be used near an outlet. The available evidence does not establish the battery configuration in every local bundle for these candidates, so do not infer it from the model name or a product photo.

Speed and ink yield: what the specifications mean
Epson UK states ISO print speeds of 7 pages per minute in black and 4 pages per minute in colour for the WF-110W, with yields of up to 250 black pages and 200 colour pages. These are manufacturer figures on Epson’s UK product page, accessed in 2026; they are not independent test results or a promise that every user will achieve those speeds or page counts. Actual output and yield depend on the documents and printing conditions.
Epson’s U.S. listing for the WF-110 Wireless Mobile Printer gives a 250 ISO-page yield and says the printer is designed for Epson cartridges. Do not combine the U.S. and UK figures into one universal specification or assume the same cartridge names, bundle, or availability across regions.

Check consumables before choosing by purchase price
A low initial price does not establish low running costs. Before committing to an inkjet, identify the cartridge numbers that match the exact regional model, confirm that replacements are available where you live, and compare their current prices and stated yields. The available evidence does not verify current cartridge SKUs or street prices for these candidates, so it cannot support a cost-per-page ranking.
Treat a published yield as a standardized manufacturer estimate rather than a guaranteed number of pages for your mix of text, graphics, and photos. If you print often, particularly in colour, consumable availability and replacement cost may matter more than a small difference in stored size.
