Most avoidable Angular problems come from trusting template strings, optimizing without profiling, letting templates become hard to reason about, misunderstanding dependency-injection scope, or applying setup advice from the wrong Angular version. Use this checklist to catch those issues without treating every convention as a universal rule.
1. Don’t build Angular templates from untrusted strings
Angular sanitizes or escapes untrusted values used in ordinary template bindings and interpolation. That protection does not make template source safe: Angular treats templates as trusted executable code. Combining user-controlled input with template syntax can create a template-injection vulnerability.
- Display untrusted values through normal Angular bindings instead of compiling or assembling template syntax from them.
- Avoid bypassing Angular’s security checks unless the content has been validated for the exact security context in which it will be used. A value considered safe in one context may not be safe in another.
- Use ahead-of-time (AOT) compilation in production. Angular says its AOT template compiler prevents a class of template-injection vulnerabilities and improves application performance.
- Consider Content Security Policy (CSP) and Trusted Types as additional layers of defense, not replacements for safe binding practices.
- Escape server-generated HTML appropriately; client-side Angular protections do not remove the server’s responsibility to handle injection risks.
See Angular’s security guidance for the framework’s treatment of binding, template source, sanitization, and trust-bypass APIs.
2. Don’t optimize until you know what is slow
Start by profiling the application and identifying the actual bottleneck. Angular recommends using Chrome DevTools’ Angular track or Angular DevTools to investigate slow components and change-detection cycles. A remedy for slow startup may not help a sluggish interaction after the app has loaded.

- Read Before You Buy — No Video Output: These adapters support charging and USB 2.0 data transfer, but cannot transmit video signals. Except for standard USB webcams (which use USB data only), they are not compatible with HDMI/DisplayPort cables, video-capable USB-C hubs, or docking stations with video output.
- Convert USB-A Ports to USB-C: Designed to connect USB-C earphones, cables, flash drives, card readers, and other USB-C accessories to standard USB-A ports. Plug-and-play with no drivers or software required.
- Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
| Observed problem | Investigate |
|---|---|
| Slow initial load | Whether large components can be deferred with @defer, whether above-the-fold images benefit from NgOptimizedImage, and whether server-side rendering (SSR) fits the application. |
| Sluggish interactions after load | Expensive template expressions or lifecycle hooks, unnecessary work triggered through zones, and whether OnPush or zoneless change detection is appropriate. |
These are diagnostic directions, not guaranteed fixes. Measure the effect in the application after each relevant change. Angular’s performance guide covers profiling and optimization.
3. Don’t let templates become a second business-logic layer
Simple expressions belong in templates; Angular does not require moving every bit of logic into TypeScript. When an expression becomes difficult to scan, test, or maintain, move the logic into TypeScript—often into a computed when it derives a value from signals.

Keep components and directives focused on the UI where practical. A transformation or validation rule that is independent of rendering may fit better in a function or class. The goal is clearer responsibilities, not eliminating useful template expressions. Angular’s style guide presents its conventions as recommendations.
4. Don’t assume an injectable service is one global instance
Angular dependency injection is hierarchical. Where a provider is registered determines which injector owns the instance and which parts of the application can see it.

| Provider scope | What it means | When it may fit |
|---|---|---|
| Application or route-level | Provides an instance at a broader scope for consumers covered by that injector. | When the service should be shared across the relevant application or route area. |
| Component-level | A provider declared on a component creates an instance in that component’s injector, available to the component and its descendants. Other parents or siblings may not use that instance; its lifetime follows the component. | When a component subtree needs an isolated instance or component-tied lifetime. |
Do not add providedIn: 'root' reflexively: select a scope that matches intended sharing and lifetime. For interface-shaped configuration, remember that TypeScript interfaces disappear at runtime and cannot be injection tokens; use an InjectionToken. If services depend on each other in a cycle, restructure shared logic or use event-based communication. Angular notes that forwardRef() does not solve circular service dependencies.

5. Don’t apply standalone-component advice without checking your Angular version
Angular’s component guide says components are standalone by default starting with Angular 19.0. Before Angular 19.0, the default for standalone was false. Check the project’s Angular version before changing component metadata or following a migration example.
- In current standalone components, put template dependencies—components, directives, and pipes—in that component’s
imports. - Older NgModule-based applications remain a documented setup; do not assume an existing app must migrate just to follow this checklist.
- The dependency-injection troubleshooting guide says that in standalone components on Angular v20 and later, dependencies must be explicitly imported or provided in each component. Follow the guidance for the exact version and setup in your project.
Angular’s component guide documents the version-sensitive default and current component setup.

6. A quick review before shipping
- Are untrusted values displayed through normal bindings rather than inserted into generated template source?
- Are any trust-bypass calls justified for their specific security context?
- Has profiling identified the bottleneck before performance changes were made?
- Can a teammate understand the template without tracing complex calculations through it?
- Does each service’s provider scope match who should share its instance and how long it should live?
- Do standalone or NgModule instructions match the project’s Angular version and architecture?
