You can retrieve Cointelegraph news as JSON without a key using a reported, unofficial GraphQL endpoint—but Cointelegraph does not document or support it as a public API. The endpoint may change, and access does not grant permission to republish its content. For recent headlines, Cointelegraph’s RSS feed is the simpler option.
Does Cointelegraph have an official API?
The available documentation does not establish an official, documented public Cointelegraph news API. A developer guide published September 29, 2026, reports that the website uses an internal GraphQL endpoint at https://conpletus.cointelegraph.com/v1/. The guide describes it as undocumented and potentially subject to change; its behavior is based on the guide author’s tests, not an API contract from Cointelegraph. See the developer guide.

That distinction matters: a request that works today is not a supported integration. Avoid relying on the endpoint for a production service without a fallback and confirmation that your intended use is permitted.

The guide describes three query patterns used within a locale selection. These are reported capabilities, not guaranteed features:
#1 Best Overall
postsretrieves recent posts and accepts offset and length values.postsSearchsearches posts by keyword.postretrieves an individual article by slug.
According to the guide’s tests, list and search results include metadata such as title, publication time, lead text, category, author, and view count. The single-post query returns the full article body. Because the endpoint is undocumented, field names, query behavior, and availability may change without notice.
Do you need an API key, and can browser JavaScript call it?
The September 2026 guide reports that its requests to the internal endpoint did not require an API key. It also reports that the endpoint’s CORS response permits only the https://cointelegraph.com origin, so a third-party website cannot call it directly from browser JavaScript.
For a prototype or service, the guide’s practical options are to make requests from your own backend or retrieve RSS through your backend. Server-side access can address the reported browser restriction; it does not make the endpoint supported or grant rights to reuse the content.
How far back can you go?
The reported GraphQL list query accepts offset and length values, and the search query supports keyword searches. The guide does not establish a guaranteed retention period or maximum history, so do not assume a particular date range is available.

RSS is better suited to collecting recent headlines than searching or paging through older stories. A feed directory reported 30 recent stories in Cointelegraph’s main feed on October 5, 2026; that is an observed count from that date, not a permanent feed limit. See Feeder’s feed directory.
Which route fits your use case?
| Option | Documentation and key | Coverage and retrieval | Where to call it | Content-use considerations |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Cointelegraph RSS | Published feed; the cited sources do not state an API-key requirement. | Recent headlines; the cited sources report no keyword search or paging back through history. | Feed retrieval can be routed through your backend if needed. | Cointelegraph’s terms still govern content use. |
| Reported Cointelegraph GraphQL endpoint | Undocumented internal endpoint; the September 2026 guide reports no key for its tested requests. | Reported latest-post retrieval, keyword search, and single-article retrieval; no guaranteed history range. | The guide reports a CORS restriction against third-party browser origins; use a server-side approach if testing it. | Technical access does not authorize scraping, redistribution, or republication. |
| CoinGecko Crypto News API | Managed API; CoinGecko’s product page directs users to obtain an API key. | Aggregates news from more than 100 publishers, including Cointelegraph, according to the product page. | Product page shows a GET /api/v3/news endpoint. |
Review the provider’s current access terms and the applicable content rights. |
CoinGecko’s Crypto News API product page is an option when you need managed, multi-publisher news aggregation. It is not a no-key Cointelegraph API. The available sources do not establish a complete service-level or pricing comparison, so check current provider details before choosing.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone. What do Cointelegraph’s terms allow?
Cointelegraph’s terms of service and privacy policy state that platform content is protected and restrict redistribution, reproduction, automated scraping, and independent content pipelines based on its content without prior written authorization. A technically reachable endpoint is not permission to copy article text, redistribute it, or build a commercial feed. Review the current terms and obtain written authorization if your intended use requires it.

The terms also describe Cointelegraph content as general informational and educational material, not investment, financial, legal, or tax advice. They warn that digital assets are volatile and high-risk and that investors may lose some or all of their capital. News retrieval does not change those risks or make a feed suitable as a substitute for professional advice.
