Does it work in a cold room?
CHOICE lists a claimed operating range of 5–37°C. That makes the CLI-DH8D’s stated range relevant to cooler indoor spaces, but it is not proof of a particular extraction rate at any given temperature. The public information does not provide a temperature-by-temperature performance curve or disclosed measured water-removal results.
Use it indoors and follow the manual supplied with the unit. The manual warns against blocking the air intake or outlet; airflow obstruction can interfere with operation. Place the appliance on a flat, stable surface and leave at least 30 cm between it and walls or other appliances, as specified in the retailer-hosted manual.

Tank, drainage and controls
Tank or continuous drainage
The listed tank capacity is 2 litres, while the extraction claim is 8 litres per day. These are different kinds of figures: the first describes the reservoir’s listed capacity, and the second is a claimed daily rate. The unit can collect water in its reservoir, or use an optional hose for continuous drainage. The manual describes the hose as an extra option; the sources do not establish current stock or compatibility of replacement hoses, so check the exact manual and connection on the appliance before buying an accessory.
Humidity settings and operation
The manufacturer-branded instruction book describes humidity selections of 40%, 50% and 60%, plus low/quiet, normal and fast operating speeds. It also lists an ioniser and timer options. According to the manual, the unit starts in continuous dehumidification mode. Check the controls on the individual appliance and consult its manual, especially if buying used.

Is a used CLI-DH8D worth considering?
Because CHOICE marks the model discontinued, a buyer may encounter it second-hand, but current stock in any condition is not verified here. Before paying, check the particular unit rather than relying on its original specification sheet:
- Confirm that it powers on and that the fan and controls respond across available settings.
