Check coverage, cost, and alert handling before switching
- Match the app to the job. Separate incident awareness, emergency escalation, route selection, trusted-contact notifications, and general neighborhood updates; an app serving one of these needs may not serve the others.
- Check your location and the exact features you need. Citizen’s Help Center says coverage extends to over 60 U.S. cities and separately lists Toronto, Canada; it directs users to check the app for current availability. Its Help Center says a free trial is automatically billed each cycle until canceled. Check the current in-app offer and cancellation terms before starting a trial. How to interpret the comparison
