Google says the desktop rollout will take place over the coming days and weeks, so the update may not appear for every user immediately. Google’s desktop Stable Channel announcement has the version details.
What is the critical WebGL flaw?
Google identifies CVE-2026-103628 as a critical out-of-bounds write in WebGL. An out-of-bounds write occurs when software writes data beyond the memory area allocated for it; the release note does not describe the technical conditions or consequences in greater detail. Google lists itself as the reporter and August 21, 2026, as the report date. The official release entry does not say that attackers are exploiting this flaw in the wild, so it should not be described as a confirmed active zero-day.

What are the “10 other bugs”?
Google says the desktop update contains 11 security fixes in total. The release entry available for this update exposes seven additional vulnerability rows, not a full public accounting of all 10 other fixes. Their identities and technical details therefore cannot all be confirmed from that entry. Google notes that vulnerability details may remain restricted until most users have received a fix, or while a third-party library remains unpatched in other projects. The release note is the source for the published fix count and disclosed entries.
Is there an Android update?
Yes. Google announced Chrome 154.0.8037.126 for Android on October 1, 2026, with availability through Google Play expected over the next few days. Google’s Android release note says releases contain the same security fixes as their corresponding desktop releases unless otherwise noted. Google’s Android announcement provides the mobile version information.

How to get the update
Because Google is distributing the desktop release in stages, use Chrome’s built-in update check and install the new version when it is offered. Android users can check Google Play for the Chrome update. The October 1 announcement describes a staged rollout, not immediate availability on every device.
