Chosen’s Create: Integrated Modpack Server Setup Guide (Minecraft 1.21.1)

A complete setup guide for Chosen’s Create: Integrated: required versions, the matching 1.4.3 server archive, first launch, configuration, client synchronization, networking, backups, troubleshooting and hosting choices.
Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

To run Chosen’s Create: Integrated with friends, use Minecraft 1.21.1, the NeoForge loader, and the server archive that matches the client release: Chosen’s Create Integrated 1.4.3 Server Files.zip. The files listing dates that server release to March 29, 2026. Install the same 1.4.3 profile on every client, extract the server archive into a clean directory, complete the first launch and EULA step, configure server.properties, then choose either self-hosting or managed Minecraft modpack hosting.

This pack is built around Create automation and combines Ars Nouveau, Just Dire Things, Refined Storage 2 and Replication into one progression. Because Minecraft versions, NeoForge builds, files and hosting availability can change, verify the official CurseForge project and files listing immediately before downloading.

What you need before starting

A reliable setup has three matching parts: the Minecraft game version, the modloader and the modpack release. Chosen’s Create: Integrated is listed for Minecraft 1.21.1 with NeoForge. The server and every client must use the same release; mixing a newer client pack with an older server archive commonly causes missing-mod, registry or connection errors.

Component Value for the documented release How to verify
Minecraft 1.21.1 Check the profile’s game-version field and the server log.
Modloader NeoForge Check the profile and the loader information printed during startup.
Pack release 1.4.3 Use the release number shown in the official files listing.
Server download Chosen’s Create Integrated 1.4.3 Server Files.zip Confirm the complete filename before extracting.
Server release date March 29, 2026 The date shown for that files-listing entry.

Install the launcher and profile

Install the CurseForge app, open its Minecraft area and create or install the Chosen’s Create: Integrated profile. A CurseForge profile bundles the modloader, configuration files and mods, so players should not assemble individual mods by hand. If a profile already exists, open its details and confirm that it reports Minecraft 1.21.1, NeoForge and release 1.4.3 before launching.

Prepare a place for the server

Choose a dedicated directory on a local SSD or on the machine that will stay online. Do not extract a modded server into an existing vanilla world folder or into the directory used by another modpack. Use a path that the service account can read and write, and leave enough free disk space for the initial world plus backups and future region growth.

Download the correct server files

Open the pack’s official CurseForge files page and select Chosen’s Create Integrated 1.4.3 Server Files.zip. The server archive is separate from the ordinary client profile. Downloading the client ZIP and attempting to use it as a server can leave out launch scripts, server configuration or libraries.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.
  1. Check that the file title says Server Files, not merely the pack name.
  2. Confirm that the release is 1.4.3 and is associated with Minecraft 1.21.1 and NeoForge.
  3. Save the ZIP locally before extracting it. Keep the original archive as a recovery copy until the server has started successfully.
  4. If the files page shows a later release when you follow this guide, use the later server archive only when all players can install that same client release.

Release numbers, dates and availability are volatile. The 1.4.3 archive and March 29, 2026 date describe the release identified in this guide, not a promise that it will remain the newest file.

Extract and perform the first launch

Use a clean directory

  1. Create a new folder dedicated to this server, such as a folder named for the pack and release.
  2. Extract every item from the downloaded server ZIP into that folder. Do not run the launcher while it is still inside the compressed archive.
  3. Preserve the directory structure supplied by the pack. Moving individual mods, libraries or configuration folders can break relative paths used by the launcher.
  4. Read any included README or license file before changing launch settings. The archive contents and script names can differ between releases.

Run the supplied launcher

Start the launcher supplied in the extracted archive. The exact script filename is not fixed in the available release description, so use the file included in your download rather than guessing a command. On the first run, the server normally creates world, configuration and log files and may stop until the Minecraft EULA is accepted.

  • EXPLORE AND CRAFT — Discover biomes, resources, and mobs, then craft your way through a sandbox world filled with surprises.

  • PLAY TOGETHER — Play cross-platform with friends in Bedrock Edition on console, mobile, and PC, or join community servers in Java Edition on PC, Mac, and Linux. Online console multiplayer requires a platform-specific subscription (sold separately).

Accept the EULA only if you agree to its terms. Depending on the launcher, acceptance is completed through a prompt or by changing the generated EULA file as instructed by the server output. After making that change, start the supplied launcher again and watch the console until it reports that the server is ready. Stop it cleanly after this first successful start so that configuration can be edited before inviting players.

What to check in the first log

  • The log should identify Minecraft 1.21.1 and NeoForge rather than a different loader.
  • It should discover the pack’s mods without a missing-file or dependency error.
  • The process should create a world directory and a server.properties file.
  • Allow the initial generation to finish before terminating the process; closing the window during generation can leave an incomplete world.

Configure server.properties

Open server.properties with a plain-text editor while the server is stopped. Change only the settings you understand, keep a backup of the original file and avoid adding quotation marks unless the file already uses them.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

Identity and access settings

  • Server name or message: Set a name that tells players which world and pack release they are joining.
  • Whitelist: Enable it when access should be limited to invited accounts, then add players through the server’s administrative commands.
  • Online-mode and authentication: Keep the secure setting supplied by the pack unless you have a specific, documented reason to change it. Disabling authentication changes the trust model and can allow impersonation.
  • Difficulty, game mode and PvP: Decide these before the first shared session so that world rules are consistent.
  • View and simulation distances: Start conservatively for the available hardware and increase them only after observing server tick times.
  • Port and bind address: Keep the port value consistent with your firewall and router configuration. Bind only as broadly as necessary; a local-only bind is appropriate when a separate proxy or private network is handling access.

Save, restart and test locally

  1. Save the edited file and close the editor.
  2. Start the same supplied launcher again.
  3. Join from the host computer or local network with a client that uses the matching profile.
  4. Confirm that you can enter the world, place and break blocks, open storage and leave without a crash.
  5. Stop the server through its console command instead of killing the process, then copy the world and configuration folders into a backup location.

Make every client match the server

Each player should install the Chosen’s Create: Integrated profile through CurseForge and select the same release used by the server. CurseForge notes that game-version and modloader compatibility determine whether mods and modpacks work together.

Client check Required result If it differs
Pack version 1.4.3 Install the server’s release or replace the server with the release everyone has agreed to use.
Minecraft version 1.21.1 Change the profile’s game version; do not try to connect across game versions.
Loader NeoForge Recreate or repair the profile with NeoForge selected.
Mods and configuration Exactly those supplied by the profile Remove manually added mods and restore the profile’s configuration before retrying.

Have players close the game completely after changing profiles. A stale launcher process can retain the previous mod list. If one player receives a mismatch message, compare the profile version and loader first; do not start by deleting the world.

Self-hosting: network and administration

Self-hosting gives you control over the files, backups, firewall rules and update schedule. It also makes you responsible for keeping the Java server process running, securing the machine and making the server reachable from outside your home network.

Local-network testing

  1. Find the host machine’s private address and connect from another computer on the same network using the address and port configured in server.properties.
  2. Allow the server process through the operating system firewall only on the networks you intend to trust.
  3. Test with a second player before configuring internet access. This separates modpack problems from router and firewall problems.

Internet access

For friends outside your home, configure port forwarding on the router to the host machine’s private address, then permit the same port in the host firewall. Your public address may change, and some internet providers place customers behind carrier-grade NAT, which prevents ordinary inbound forwarding. If forwarding cannot work, use a private networking solution or managed hosting rather than weakening authentication.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

Never publish the machine’s administrative credentials or expose unrelated services while opening the Minecraft port. Keep the operating system, Java runtime and server files updated according to their vendors’ security guidance, and run the server under a restricted account when your operating system allows it.

Backups and safe shutdown

  • Stop the server cleanly before copying a live world. A running copy can contain partially written region or player files.
  • Keep at least one backup away from the server machine. Rotate backups so that an accidental deletion is not copied over every recovery point.
  • Back up the world, server.properties, whitelist and operator settings, and the pack’s configuration files.
  • Test restoring a backup to a separate directory before you need it.

Managed hosting through CurseForge

Managed hosting is the simpler option when you do not want to maintain port forwarding, uptime, operating-system updates or a Java process. CurseForge documents a flow in which you choose the modpack, select a plan and region, enter server details and pay. That hosted flow is powered by Shockbyte and billed through Tebex.

Typical setup flow

  1. Open the CurseForge hosting option for Minecraft modpacks.
  2. Select Chosen’s Create: Integrated and verify that the provider offers the required Minecraft 1.21.1 and NeoForge release.
  3. Choose a region close to most players and select a plan based on your measured workload rather than a generic RAM claim.
  4. Enter the server name and account details, complete payment through the displayed checkout and wait for deployment.
  5. Open the provider’s control panel, confirm that the installed pack release matches the clients and review the address, backup and restart controls.
  6. Connect with a client profile that exactly matches the deployed server.

Plans, regions, pricing and supported versions can change. Confirm those details at checkout and read the provider’s backup and cancellation terms before paying.

Performance planning without a misleading RAM number

The official pack and hosting pages identified for this guide do not publish a tested RAM or CPU requirement for a particular player count. Do not treat a fixed specification copied from another modpack as a guarantee. Create automation, chunk loading, storage networks, exploration and entity-heavy farms can change the workload substantially.

Measure the workload you actually have

  • Start with the number of simultaneous players you expect, then test a busier scenario rather than the quietest one.
  • Generate or explore the areas your group will use; world generation can be more demanding than an idle base.
  • Build representative Create machines, Ars Nouveau systems, storage networks and farms before finalizing a hosting plan.
  • Watch server tick time, CPU saturation, memory use, garbage-collection pauses and disk latency while players move and automate.
  • Increase resources or reduce view and simulation distances when measurements show sustained lag. Change one variable at a time so you can identify the cause.

A managed provider can resize a plan more easily, while a self-hosted administrator may need hardware or operating-system changes. In either case, performance should be based on observed workload, not an unsupported universal number.

Updating the pack safely

Do not replace server files while the world is running. Before an update, announce a maintenance window and make a full backup.

  1. Record the current pack release, Minecraft version, NeoForge version and any configuration changes.
  2. Stop the server cleanly and copy the world and configuration to a dated backup directory.
  3. Read the new release notes and download its matching server archive from the official files page.
  4. Extract the new files into a separate directory instead of overwriting the working installation.
  5. Carry over only settings that the new release expects; do not blindly copy old configuration files over new defaults.
  6. Start the new installation and inspect the log for removed, changed or missing mods.
  7. Join with a test client using the same new profile, then migrate the live server only after the world loads and key machines work.

Keep the old directory until the new world has been backed up and accepted by the players. A downgrade can be unsafe after mods or world formats have changed, so restore the pre-update backup rather than repeatedly swapping versions.

Troubleshooting common failures

“Incompatible modded server” or missing-mod errors

Compare the client and server release numbers, Minecraft 1.21.1 setting and NeoForge loader. Reinstall the official profile on the affected client and remove manually added or removed mods. Verify that the server archive is the Server Files ZIP, not a client download.

The server closes immediately

Read the last lines of the console and the newest log file. Check whether the EULA is still pending, whether the Java runtime can start the supplied launcher, and whether the directory is writable. Restore the original extracted files in a new clean directory if individual files were moved or edited.

Players cannot connect from outside

Test locally first. If local connections work, check the host firewall, router forwarding destination, configured server port and whether the internet provider blocks inbound connections. A changing public address or carrier-grade NAT may require a different network arrangement or managed hosting.

Connection succeeds but the world lags

Record when lag occurs: during exploration, automation, chunk loading or peak player activity. Check server tick and disk metrics, reduce view or simulation distance, pause unusually heavy machines and retest. Increase host resources only after confirming that CPU, memory or storage is the limiting factor.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

The world will not load after an update

Stop the server, preserve the failed installation and restore the pre-update backup to a separate test directory. Read the release notes and logs for changed or removed mods. Do not delete region files as a first response; that can permanently remove player builds.
