What you are comparing
GoDaddy Websites + Marketing
GoDaddy’s Website Builder is a template-based product with drag-and-drop editing. Applicable plans add online-store features, marketing tools, and marketplace connections. GoDaddy describes it as beginner-friendly and notes that advanced customization can be more limited than with WordPress. GoDaddy’s Website Builder comparison outlines the product and its trade-offs.

WooCommerce
WooCommerce is an open-source ecommerce platform for WordPress. Its core has no monthly platform subscription or revenue share, but the store owner chooses hosting and may add paid extensions. The resulting store is a WordPress site, not a hosted GoDaddy Website Builder store. WooCommerce’s pricing page describes its fees and cost examples.
GoDaddy Managed Hosting for WordPress
This is a separate GoDaddy hosting product, not the Website Builder. GoDaddy says it supports WooCommerce; its UK plan page lists online selling with WooCommerce on the Ultimate plan and advertises management features including automatic updates and daily backups. GoDaddy’s Managed Hosting for WordPress page has plan details.

Which one fits your priorities?
| Priority | Better starting point | What to weigh |
|---|---|---|
| Get a site and store set up with fewer separate decisions | GoDaddy Websites + Marketing | Templates and bundled tools simplify the setup, while limiting some advanced customization. |
| Choose your WordPress setup, host, and extensions | WooCommerce | Flexibility comes with responsibility for choosing and managing the stack. |
| Use WordPress but outsource some hosting management | WooCommerce on managed WordPress hosting | GoDaddy’s Managed Hosting for WordPress is one possible host; it is distinct from its Website Builder. |
| Decide based on which is cheaper | Neither without a like-for-like estimate | Compare the relevant local plan, renewal price, hosting, extensions, payment processing, and maintenance or development needs. |
Compare the work as well as the features
Setup and ongoing effort
GoDaddy’s bundled, template-led editor is the more straightforward starting point if you want to avoid assembling a WordPress stack. WooCommerce requires a WordPress installation and a hosting arrangement. Managed hosting may take over some maintenance, but it does not remove the choices about the store’s setup and extensions.
Customization and responsibility
GoDaddy itself identifies advanced customization as a potential limitation of its Website Builder compared with WordPress. WooCommerce gives you more choices over the WordPress-based store, host, and extensions, but those choices also mean more decisions and responsibility. Greater control is useful only if you want to make or manage those decisions.
Store requirements
List the functions your store actually needs—such as catalog and checkout requirements, integrations, or subscriptions—then verify that they are available on the selected GoDaddy plan or through suitable WooCommerce extensions. The available information does not establish a universal winner for every store feature.

WooCommerce lists a $0 core platform fee and no revenue share. It also says most stores pay $25–$350 per month for hosting, and that optional extensions cost $29–$299 per year each. These are vendor-published general ranges, not a quote for a particular store; payment processors charge their own fees. A free core platform therefore does not mean a cost-free operating store.
As one illustration rather than a typical-store forecast, WooCommerce’s pricing page gives a Europe boutique example with $2 million in annual revenue and estimates total costs at 6.95% of revenue in the first year and 4.48% ongoing. Those figures are WooCommerce’s example, not an independently verified estimate for your business.
GoDaddy’s UK Managed Hosting for WordPress page displayed annual-term introductory monthly equivalents of £3.99 for Basic, £5.49 for Deluxe, and £6.99 for Ultimate when accessed on October 7, 2026. The page also showed higher regular monthly prices. These are UK WordPress hosting prices, not prices for a Website Builder ecommerce plan and not a full WooCommerce operating budget. Check the current local price, billing term, renewal rate, and plan contents before deciding.
Rank #4
There is no same-country, same-term price comparison here between GoDaddy Website Builder ecommerce and a complete WooCommerce setup. Do not infer the cheaper option from WooCommerce’s $0 core fee or from an introductory hosting price. Build each estimate around the same region, term, store needs, and time period.
A practical way to make the decision
- Write down required store functions. Include the products, checkout, integrations, subscriptions, or other capabilities you need now.
- Check each product’s actual fit. Confirm that the GoDaddy plan includes the features you need, or identify the WooCommerce extensions and hosting arrangement required.
- Estimate the full cost for the same period. Include the applicable platform or plan, hosting, extensions, payment processing, and any development or maintenance work.
- Account for the work you will manage. Decide whether you want a bundled editor or are comfortable choosing and maintaining a WordPress-based stack, potentially with managed hosting.
- Verify current local terms. Compare the same geography and billing term, and distinguish introductory from renewal pricing.
Can you use WooCommerce with GoDaddy?
Yes. GoDaddy’s Managed Hosting for WordPress supports WooCommerce, and its UK page lists WooCommerce selling as an Ultimate plan feature. That means using GoDaddy as a WordPress host; it does not mean installing WooCommerce into the separate GoDaddy Website Builder. Features and prices depend on the specific hosting plan and region.
Is GoDaddy easier than WooCommerce?
GoDaddy’s Website Builder is presented as a template-based, drag-and-drop product with bundled tools, so it is the more direct fit if minimizing setup choices is your priority. WooCommerce involves WordPress and a chosen hosting arrangement. This describes the products’ setup models, not an independent comparative test of how easy they are for every user.
Is WooCommerce free?
WooCommerce says its core has no platform subscription fee or revenue share. Hosting, paid extensions, payment processing, and possible development or maintenance still contribute to the total cost.
