Which phone gives you the screen and handling you want?
Choose the Galaxy A35 if you want a larger display for reading, video, or games and value the listed 120Hz refresh rate. Samsung gives the screen’s diagonal as 6.6 inches across the full rectangle, or 6.4 inches when rounded corners are accounted for.

The iPhone 16’s listed display is 6.1 inches, and the phone’s cited dimensions are smaller than the A35’s dimensions in Samsung’s UK specification. If a smaller handset matters more than screen size, the iPhone’s measurements may be a better fit. Try both in hand if possible: dimensions do not capture grip, button placement, or how either phone feels during extended use.

How do their cameras differ?
Samsung lists three rear camera resolutions on the A35: 50MP, 8MP, and 5MP, and specifies optical image stabilization. AT&T describes the iPhone 16 as having a 48MP Fusion main camera, a 12MP 2× telephoto option, and a 12MP ultrawide camera.
Those specifications describe different camera arrangements; they do not prove which phone takes better photos or video. Megapixel counts alone cannot settle image quality. Consider whether you will use the ultrawide view or the iPhone’s listed 2× telephoto option, and look for sample images made in conditions similar to your own before buying.

Storage: expandable card or more built-in capacity?
The Samsung UK configuration cited here has 128GB of internal storage and supports a microSD card up to 1TB. Samsung specifies a hybrid SIM-slot arrangement for that configuration, so check the exact model and SIM setup before relying on card expansion.
AT&T lists the iPhone 16 in 128GB, 256GB, and 512GB versions. Its listing does not describe microSD expansion. If you keep large video libraries or many games on your phone, compare the upfront cost of the storage tier you need with the cost and convenience of adding a compatible card to the particular A35 model available in your market.

Battery figures are not a direct comparison
Samsung specifies a typical 5,000mAh battery for the A35 and publishes usage estimates on its product page. AT&T lists up to 22 hours of video playback for the iPhone 16. Battery capacity and a stated playback duration are not measured on the same basis, so these figures cannot identify a runtime winner. Real endurance also depends on settings, signal conditions, apps, and usage.
What is the price difference?
AT&T’s US listing gives the iPhone 16 a retail starting price of $829.99, subject to financing and other terms. The same carrier says the Galaxy A35 5G is no longer available through AT&T. That establishes neither the A35’s current price elsewhere nor its availability through other sellers or in other countries.

Samsung’s UK A35 listing says its security-update period is valid until 31 March 2028. Treat that date as specific to the cited UK listing; the page does not make it a promise that every market SKU has identical support terms.

Choose based on the operating system and services you prefer, too. The specifications here do not provide a like-for-like software-support period for the iPhone 16, so they cannot establish which phone will receive updates longer. If you already use apps, accessories, or services tied to one platform, check their compatibility before switching.
