For portals and connected business data, shortlist Softr and Glide; for Google Workspace workflows, consider AppSheet; for more control over a web interface and code export, look at WeWeb. If native mobile apps are essential, compare FlutterFlow and Adalo separately. These are use-case matches based on published product descriptions, not independently tested winners.
Start with the kind of app you need
“Simple web app” can describe very different projects. A private staff dashboard has different access, data, and publishing needs from a client-facing portal or a public product. Decide first who will use the app, where its data lives, and whether it must work as a web app or a native iOS or Android app.

- Client or vendor portal: users sign in to view or update records, documents, requests, or account details.
- Internal tool: staff manage operations such as inventory, field work, or reporting.
- Custom public web app: you need more control over the interface and behavior than a set of standard business-app layouts may offer.
- Mobile-store app: publishing through Apple’s App Store or Google Play is a requirement, not just a nice-to-have.
Also distinguish responsive web apps and progressive web apps from native apps. They are different outputs; a product’s ability to create one does not establish that it creates the others.
Bubble alternatives by use case
| Alternative | Most relevant when | What the published product description supports | Check before choosing |
|---|---|---|---|
| Softr | You need a portal, dashboard, or internal business app built around business data. | Softr lists client and vendor portals, CRM, inventory, intranets, and reporting as use cases, and advertises role and permission controls. | Confirm the data connections, access rules, and plan limits for your specific app. The feature descriptions are from the vendor, not independent security or usability testing. |
| Glide | You want connected business apps for work such as field operations, inventory, or customer access. | Glide’s product page emphasizes shared data across apps and access suited to different roles. | Check whether your chosen data source, user model, and required workflows fit the current product and plan. |
| Google AppSheet | Your internal workflow already revolves around Google Sheets, Drive, or Workspace. | Bubble’s comparison guide describes AppSheet as spreadsheet-oriented and aimed at internal operations. | Verify current Google documentation for the features, integrations, and pricing you need. The comparison guide is not a substitute for current plan details. |
| WeWeb | You want more direct control over a web interface and value the option to export code or self-host. | WeWeb says users can generate web apps with AI, edit visually, publish, or export code to self-host. | Read the current export and hosting terms carefully. An export option alone does not establish that every part of an app, including its data and services, can be moved without work. |
| FlutterFlow | A mobile app is in scope and your team is willing to work with Flutter concepts. | FlutterFlow describes visual UI building, a visual action-flow editor, and Firebase and Supabase integrations. | Confirm current publishing support, backend fit, and the skills needed to maintain the result. |
| Adalo | Publishing to mobile app stores matters more than matching a web-first builder’s flexibility. | Adalo says one project can publish to Apple App Store, Google Play, and the web. | Treat broad comparison and pricing claims on Adalo’s own page as vendor claims; verify present publishing requirements and costs for your target platforms. |
| Replit | You are open to a prompt-led, code-generating workspace rather than a conventional visual no-code editor. | Replit’s comparison guide describes a browser-based workspace with database, authentication, hosting, and deployment. | Generated code has a different maintenance model from a visual builder. Consider who will diagnose and maintain the app when its behavior needs changing. |
These descriptions establish possible fit, not which platform is easiest, fastest, most secure, or best value. The named products’ published descriptions and comparison guides do not amount to a documented, hands-on comparison of your app.
#1 Best Overall
Which Bubble alternative fits your project?
For a client portal or business dashboard
Begin with Softr or Glide if your app is primarily a way for users to work with business data. Softr’s stated use cases explicitly include client and vendor portals; Glide emphasizes connected business apps and shared data. Compare the exact record access model, data connections, and user limits against your requirements rather than choosing from a feature label.
For a workflow built around Google Sheets
AppSheet is a sensible candidate to investigate when your staff already work in Google Sheets, Drive, or Workspace. Confirm that the current product documentation supports the specific workflow and access model you need. A spreadsheet as a starting point does not by itself guarantee that a workflow will handle permissions, scale, or reporting as required.
For a custom web interface or an exit path
WeWeb is the clearest fit in this shortlist when visual editing needs to coexist with an option to export code or self-host. Treat portability as a practical migration question: establish what is exported, what remains dependent on the service, and how the app’s data and integrations would move before committing.
For native mobile publishing
Compare FlutterFlow and Adalo when store distribution is a firm requirement. FlutterFlow’s description highlights visual construction and Firebase or Supabase integrations; Adalo says a project can publish to the two major mobile stores and the web. Those descriptions do not establish equivalent native capabilities or identical publishing workflows, so check the current documentation for each platform and your target stores.

- HTML CSS Design and Build Web Sites
- Comes with secure packaging
- It can be a gift option
For a prompt-led build that may involve code
Replit belongs in the comparison only if you are comfortable with an approach beyond visual no-code building. Its described browser workspace combines code generation with database, authentication, hosting, and deployment. That can change how the app is maintained: assess whether someone on your team can understand and troubleshoot generated code.
Compare the costs that can change the decision
Do not pick a platform solely from its lowest advertised entry price. The comparison guides available for these products include pricing examples verified in August 2026, and Replit’s guide says its product and pricing information comes from vendor pages as of that month. Those figures may have changed by October 2026, so verify current official pricing before budgeting; the cited comparisons do not establish a reliable cheapest option today.
Rank #4
- Check whether billing is monthly or annual, and whether displayed prices apply in your region.
- Identify whether pricing depends on builders, staff seats, end users, app count, usage, or credits.
- Check what database, hosting, integrations, and publishing capabilities are included at the tier you would actually use.
- Model the likely number and type of users, not just the builder’s own seats.
- Include migration and maintenance effort if code export, self-hosting, or generated code is part of your plan.
A practical shortlist process
- Write down the audience: staff only, invited clients, or the public.
- Name the data source: an existing spreadsheet or database, the builder’s own data store, or an external backend.
- List the required behavior: forms and simple approval flows, or more custom interface and branching logic.
- Specify the output: responsive web, PWA, or native iOS and Android apps. Do not treat those terms as interchangeable.
- Set portability expectations: decide whether code export or self-hosting is necessary, then confirm exactly what the provider supports.
- Price the real scenario: use current plan documentation and your expected seats, end users, usage, and publishing needs.
- Build a small representative slice: test the hardest screen, permission rule, or workflow on the shortlist before moving the full project.
Why this is not a definitive “12 best” ranking
A 2026 comparison guide is titled as a twelve-builder roundup, but the available product information does not establish a complete, verifiable roster of twelve candidates. Listing twelve names as the best would imply a level of confirmation that is not supported. The alternatives above are the candidates whose described use cases can be tied to the available vendor or comparison material; they are not a scored ranking, and the best fit depends on the requirements you set.
