The Kansas City Chiefs beat the Las Vegas Raiders 30–27 on Sunday, October 4, 2026, at Allegiant Stadium. The Raiders led 13–10 at halftime, but Kansas City scored 20 points in the fourth quarter to move to 4–0; Las Vegas fell to 3–1.

How the game unfolded
First quarter: touchdowns trade hands
Raiders quarterback Kirk Cousins connected with Ian Thomas for a 27-yard touchdown. Patrick Mahomes answered with a 41-yard pass to Xavier Worthy, then threw a short touchdown pass to Tyquan Thornton.

Second quarter: Las Vegas takes a 13–10 lead
Matt Gay kicked field goals from 32 and 48 yards, giving the Raiders a 13–10 halftime advantage.

Fourth quarter: Walker scores twice
Thornton caught a 55-yard pass that took the Chiefs to the Raiders’ 5-yard line. After a long delay, Kenneth Walker III scored a rushing touchdown to put Kansas City ahead. The Raiders then fumbled the kickoff. Walker scored again on a 22-yard run on the next play.
Raiders rally, but the final drive ends in an interception
Cousins scrambled and found Brock Bowers for a 20-yard touchdown, then connected with Cody White for a two-point conversion to make it a one-score game. Xavier Nwankpa made his first career interception to end the Raiders’ last-ditch drive and seal the Chiefs’ 30–27 win.

What decided the result
The fourth-quarter swing and the kickoff fumble were central to the finish: Kansas City scored 20 points in the period, while the Raiders gave up 20. Las Vegas had scored at least 26 points in each of its first four games, but the Raiders.com recap said the team allowed nearly 400 yards of total offense and lost the turnover battle by two.
Thornton appeared to suffer a serious leg injury after the 55-yard catch, according to the Raiders.com recap summary. No official diagnosis was available in the cited information, so the injury should not be treated as confirmed.
