What is known—and what remains unconfirmed
MP1st attributes the material to VFX artist Tracey Landau. The report page could not be retrieved for direct review, and the available sources do not independently confirm the attribution. That distinction matters: a clip described as gameplay is not, by itself, proof of a complete build or of the finished game’s intended design. The footage should be treated as reported material, not an official release or authenticated demonstration.

Why the 2024 showcase does not verify this clip
In a July 4, 2025 report, PC Gamer quoted former Initiative level designer Adam McDonald discussing the game’s separate 2024 gameplay reveal. McDonald described that showcase as a “pretty typical ‘vertical slice’” and said parkour was real, hacking and deception were mostly real, and some elements were fake; he also said combat was arranged to work best along the demonstrated route. PC Gamer’s report concerns the 2024 reveal, not the newly surfaced clip. His comments therefore do not authenticate or explain the later footage.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone.Did the footage revive the cancelled reboot?
No revival is established by the surfaced-footage report. MP1st’s indexed result says the reboot was cancelled and refers to earlier reporting that financing discussions involving Take-Two, Microsoft and Embracer did not result in a revival. That financing detail is secondary reporting and is not independently confirmed here; the existence of the clip does not show that development resumed.
