The company’s announcement describes it as “the first gaming keyboard from CHERRY XTRFY featuring Ultra-Wideband connectivity.” That supports a brand-first claim, not an independently verified worldwide first. How UWB and 8000 Hz fit into everyday use
For wireless operation, the K63W Pro connects through its supplied UWB dongle. Wired operation uses the included USB-A-to-USB-C cable. CHERRY specifies an 8000 Hz polling rate in both modes. That is a manufacturer specification; the available material does not provide an independent controlled latency measurement or evidence that a person will perceive an eightfold improvement over a lower polling rate.

In practical terms, the choice is between using the included cable or keeping the keyboard wireless with a dedicated receiver. The UWB feature is a connection method, not a guarantee of better real-world performance than wired use. The reviewed sources do not establish head-to-head reliability or speed results against specific competing keyboards.
Typing feel, customization and physical design
Low-profile switches and comfort
CHERRY equips the board with CHERRY MX Low Profile 2.0 mechanical switches. It also lists gasket construction, RGB lighting, ABS keycaps, full N-key rollover and anti-ghosting. These are manufacturer-listed features; they do not by themselves establish a particular typing preference or measured gaming advantage. In its hands-on review, TechRadar described the keyboard as comfortable and liked its typing feel, based on using it for a few days in wired and wireless modes. Those are the reviewer’s impressions, not a guarantee of how every user will find it.

Compact footprint and layout
The product page gives dimensions of 307 × 135 × 30 mm and a weight of 820 g. A 70% layout saves desk space compared with a full-size keyboard, but omits some keys or separates them from the main typing block; whether that suits you depends on the keys and navigation you use regularly. CHERRY lists adjustable feet and internal memory among the board’s features.
Remapping and software
CHERRY’s downloads page provides product documentation and CHERRY Utility Software. The company describes the utility as supporting functions such as key assignment, lighting customization and profiles, while noting that available functions vary by product and release notes. Do not assume every general Utility feature applies to this model. TechRadar’s reviewer found remapping awkward and limited in practice, a meaningful caveat if you expect to tailor many keys or layers. Battery life, compatibility and what is included
CHERRY lists a 6000 mAh battery and claims “up to 1100 hours” of use. The company qualifies that maximum: battery duration depends on polling rate and LED settings. It is therefore a conditional manufacturer claim, not an independently measured runtime or a promise that applies to every wireless setup.
The manufacturer lists support for macOS, Linux and Windows, and specifies a USB-A connection with USB 2.0 or higher. Its stated box contents are the keyboard, UWB dongle, manual and USB-A-to-USB-C cable. Check the product documentation for details relevant to your operating system and chosen connection mode.

What to weigh before buying
- Consider it if: you want a compact, low-profile mechanical keyboard, value the option of UWB wireless, and are comfortable relying on the supplied dongle for untethered use.
- Think twice if: you need extensive, easy key remapping, prefer not to use a large receiver, or want the option to replace switches yourself.
- Check before checkout: confirm that the listing is for model G8A-25600 and the correct regional layout. CHERRY lists US and UK variants as well as other regional options.
One hardware limitation is clear: CHERRY lists the K63W Pro as not hot-swappable. Switch replacement is not presented as a supported user-facing feature. The wireless puck is another practical consideration: TechRadar’s reviewer found it large and inconvenient, though that judgment reflects one reviewer’s experience.
