Nintendo Switch 2 games that support GameShare include Pokémon Pokopia, Donkey Kong Bananza, Kirby Air Riders, and Super Mario Odyssey, among others. Nintendo does not publish a confirmed, exhaustive live catalog: its current feature page shows selected games, while its broader catalog is a dated snapshot. Use the lists below as confirmed examples, then check the eShop’s GameShare filter and the individual game listing before planning a session.
What to know before choosing a GameShare game
- A Nintendo Switch 2 system must host the session. Guests receive access only while that game is being shared; GameShare does not give them ownership.
- Local wireless can include Nintendo Switch 2 and Nintendo Switch guests when the game supports those systems. Online sharing through GameChat requires Switch 2 systems, and the host and online guests must be in the same room together.
- Local and online support can differ for the same game. Player limits, supported modes, and setup steps also vary by title.
- Guests’ restricted-software parental control settings still apply. Some Switch 2-exclusive games may also require accessories or controls that make sharing with a Switch unsuitable.
GameShare streams gameplay, so guests can join without waiting for a software transfer. Nintendo’s GameShare Overview and FAQ explains the feature and advises checking each game’s software information for compatibility. The specific support details below come from Nintendo’s current UK feature page and its dated Canadian catalog; regional product names may differ.

Other games in Nintendo’s dated compatibility catalog
Nintendo Canada published a broader catalog on March 3, 2026, based on games available toward the end of January 2026. Nintendo cautioned that the list may have grown since it was gathered. The titles below were identified as available for local or online GameShare at that time. This dated list and its regional naming are not a guarantee of current availability or an exhaustive list; see Nintendo’s March 3, 2026 catalog article.

Several titles in this dated catalog also appear in Nintendo’s featured table above, including Pokémon Pokopia, Donkey Kong Bananza, and Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker. Nintendo’s 2025 and 2026 articles provide a few further details about particular games: its May 29, 2025 update announcement specifically confirms Captain Toad sharing locally with Switch or Switch 2 and online through GameChat with Switch 2. Its October 20, 2025 article describes up to four players at the campfire in Chillin’ by the Fire, up to four in Super Mario 3D World, and two-player play in Bowser’s Fury. A January 30, 2026 article calls Mortal Kombat: Legacy Kollection a local GameShare example and describes co-op sharing for Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Splintered Fate – Nintendo Switch 2 Edition and local or online sharing for Overcooked! 2 – Nintendo Switch 2 Edition.
How to check whether a game will work for your group
- Check Nintendo eShop: open Search/Browse, choose Filtered Search, then set Gameplay Style to GameShare. Nintendo says this filter shows the growing compatible list.
- Open the game’s software information: verify whether it supports local wireless, online GameChat, or both, and check the modes and player count for the session you want.
- Match the connection to everyone’s console: a Switch guest may join locally only when that title allows it; online GameChat guests need Switch 2 systems.
- Check setup and controls: confirm any game-specific host steps, accessories, control requirements, and parental restrictions that could affect a guest.
- For a local session, update every console: Nintendo’s joining instructions require all participating systems to have the latest system update. Guests select the GameShare icon on the HOME Menu, choose Join GameShare, select a local user, and join the session they find.
What GameShare does—and does not—provide
The Switch 2 host shares compatible gameplay with guests for the duration of that session. Nintendo describes the experience as streamed, rather than a transfer of the software to each guest. The host must have a Switch 2; the permitted guest systems depend on the connection method and the game. Compatibility alone does not establish that every mode or player count is shareable, so use the game’s listing for the exact session details.
