To change the Wi-Fi network saved on Sonos, open the Sonos app on your phone and use its network-update flow. In the current app, go to Settings > Visit Help Center > Update Network when the app reports “No products found.” In Sonos S1 Controller, choose Learn More > Changed router or Wi-Fi settings? when it reports “Unable to connect to Sonos.” These steps are for a changed Wi-Fi name or password, or a replacement router; they update the existing system’s network information rather than starting a new system. Sonos’s new-router instructions may use slightly different labels as app versions change.
Before you begin
Use the app that controls your system: the current Sonos app or Sonos S1 Controller. Keep your phone or tablet on the Wi-Fi network you want Sonos to use, and have its password ready. If you are replacing a router, Sonos says to leave its products disconnected from Ethernet until the Wi-Fi update is complete; reconnect any Ethernet cables required for your setup afterward.

Do not factory-reset a speaker as a first step. The normal procedure is to update the existing system’s network information in the app.
Change Wi-Fi in the current Sonos app
- Open the Sonos app on an iOS or Android device and wait while it searches for your system.
- When the app displays No products found, open Settings.
- Select Visit Help Center, then Update Network.
- Follow the prompts to connect the products to the new Wi-Fi network. Sonos says supported products are updated one at a time.
Once the supported products have joined the new router’s Wi-Fi, reconnect Ethernet cables that your system needs.

Change Wi-Fi in Sonos S1 Controller
- Open S1 Controller on iOS or Android and wait for it to search for the system.
- At Unable to connect to Sonos, select Learn More.
- Select Changed router or Wi-Fi settings?.
- Follow the on-screen instructions.
For some multi-product systems using a wireless S1 setup, the instructions may ask you to temporarily connect one Sonos product to the router with Ethernet. If other products are missing after that connection, reboot the missing products. Then open Settings > System > Network > Wireless Setup in S1 Controller and follow the prompts to connect them to Wi-Fi. An Ethernet cable is only needed if the instructions for your setup call for temporary wiring.
When the app cannot discover a product for the Wi-Fi update
Sonos says its app uses Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) to discover products during this Wi-Fi update process. The following models lack BLE support for that discovery step: Connect (Gen 2), Connect:Amp (Gen 2), One (Gen 1), Play:1, Play:3, Play:5 (Gen 2), Playbar, Playbase, Sub (Gen 1), Sub (Gen 2), SYMFONISK Bookshelf (Gen 1), and SYMFONISK Table lamp (Gen 2).

If your system includes one of these products, use Sonos’s model-specific alternate Wi-Fi update instructions. That process can involve temporarily wiring products to the router, changing a product’s Wi-Fi setting, and resetting and re-adding a different product. Follow the official steps for the affected model rather than applying a factory reset to your system generally.

Use Ethernet as a recovery option, or switch back to Wi-Fi
Sonos supports both wired and wireless setups. If a supported product is already part of your system, connecting it to the router by Ethernet can create a wired setup. Sonos advises waiting about a minute for products to change over and rebooting any that remain missing. Some products cannot provide or use the dedicated Sonos wireless network in this setup.

To switch a wired setup back to Wi-Fi:
- Current Sonos app: Open Settings > Network > Update Networks and follow the prompts.
- S1 Controller: Open Settings > System > Network > Wireless Setup and enter the Wi-Fi password.
After wireless setup finishes, disconnect Ethernet from products that were wired to the router, as directed by Sonos’s wired and wireless setup instructions.

- Confirm the speaker has power.
- Restart the router, then check whether the app can find the system.
- Make sure the phone or tablet is on the same Wi-Fi network as Sonos, not a guest network.
- If using Ethernet, check that the cable is firmly connected. Try another router or product port, or another cable, if needed.
- Temporarily turn off a VPN on the phone or computer and try again.
If those checks do not resolve the problem, contact Sonos Support for “No products found” troubleshooting.
