You can’t set the clock directly on a Fitbit. The time zone and the 12-hour or 24-hour display are controlled in the Google Health app, and the tracker picks up the change when it syncs. Google’s Help Center states it plainly: “Important: Sync your Fitbit device in the Google Health app to show the correct time.” The steps below follow that official flow and apply to Fitbit devices generally, not one model.
Correct a wrong local time
A Fitbit often shows the wrong time after you cross into another time zone or when clocks change for daylight saving. Fix the zone in the app, then sync.

- Open the Google Health app.
- On the Today tab, tap your profile picture or initial, then tap Google Health settings.
- Under App Settings, tap Date, time & units, then tap Time Zone.
- If the automatically selected zone is wrong, turn off Set Automatically and choose the correct time zone.
- Sync the Fitbit (see the sync section below).
Automatic selection is convenient when the phone’s location is accurate. Turn it off only when it picks the wrong zone, because a manually chosen zone will not update on its own when you travel again.
Switch between 12-hour and 24-hour display
The clock format is a separate setting from the time zone. Changing it does not alter the time itself.

- Open Google Health and go to Today > profile picture or initial > Google Health settings.
- Under App Settings, choose Date, time & units.
- Tap the arrows next to Clock Display Time and select 12 hour or 24 hour.
- Sync the Fitbit.
Sync the device
Every time or display change reaches the tracker only through a sync. Keep the Fitbit near your phone and use either method below.
- Pull to sync: open Google Health and pull down on the Today tab.
- Connections: open Connections and choose Sync.
Google Health also states that devices sync automatically when the app is opened while the device is nearby, so opening the app is often enough.

If the time is still wrong
Work through these checks in order, and stop once the clock is correct.

- Confirm the time zone and display settings above are correct.
- Sync the device again.
- Sign out of Google Health, sign back in, and sync again. This is the next official step Google lists when the time remains wrong.
- If the device is still an hour or more off, follow Google’s dedicated change-time help page, since an incorrect device time can also be a sign of a sync or connection problem.
Google’s sync troubleshooting article, “Why won’t my Fitbit device sync?”, lists incorrect device time among the signs of disconnection or sync trouble. If a simple sync does not resolve it, use the current troubleshooting flow in the Google Health Help Center rather than guessing at resets.

Device and version scope
Google’s time-setting instructions do not split by model, and its manuals index covers current and legacy families including Charge, Sense, Versa, Inspire, Luxe, and earlier devices. Menu labels can differ across app versions, languages, and sign-in states, so if a label is missing, look for the same setting under the closest matching heading in Google Health settings.
