To change the email address Chrome fills in, first check whether it is stored as Chrome contact information or comes from your Google Account. On a computer, open Chrome menu → Passwords and autofill → Contact info and edit or remove the saved entry. If the address is supplied by your Google Account, change it under Google Account → Personal info instead.
Find out where Chrome gets the email address
Chrome can autofill an email from a saved contact entry, or it can use the name and email associated with your signed-in Google Account. These are separate sources, so changing one may not change the other. Google explains the contact-information controls and account-sourced details in its Chrome autofill help and Google Account Personal info help.

- If the email appears among Chrome’s saved contact details, edit or remove that entry in Chrome.
- If it matches the name or email on your Google Account, update the account information in Personal info.
Change a saved email on a computer
- Open Chrome and select the three-dot menu in the top-right corner, or open the profile menu.
- Select Passwords and autofill, then Contact info.
- Choose the saved entry containing the old email. Edit it if that option is available; otherwise, remove the entry and add the corrected information.
- Check that the relevant Save and fill setting is enabled.
Chrome’s computer instructions identify Contact info as an autofill category managed through Passwords and autofill. The same help page explains that Chrome may also use the name and email from a Google Account.

Open your Google Account Personal info settings and update the applicable name or email information there. Editing a separate Chrome address entry does not change the account’s own information. Google’s Android guidance says changes to Personal info are automatically updated across Chrome autofill settings.

Update Chrome autofill on a phone or tablet
Android
In Chrome, go to Settings → Autofill and passwords → Addresses and more to manage saved address information. For a name or email coming from your Google Account, use Google Account → Personal info instead. Make sure Save and fill is on. See Google’s Android instructions for the account-sourced information.
iPhone or iPad
Open Chrome Settings → Addresses and more, then select the saved information to edit it. Chrome may request Face ID, Touch ID, or the device passcode. If the information is saved in Google Wallet, Chrome redirects you to Wallet to make the change. When Chrome is signed in to the same Google Account on other devices, changes may appear there too. See Google’s iPhone and iPad instructions.

If Chrome still suggests the old email
- Check both sources. Review Chrome’s Contact info and Google Account Personal info; the suggestion may be coming from either one.
- Check the setting. Confirm that Save and fill is enabled for the relevant contact or address information. Google describes this control in its Chrome autofill help.
- Consider the website’s form. If the old email appears only on one site, that site may use form fields Chrome does not recognize. Google notes that Chrome may not detect every field, including on secure sites, in its autofill guidance.
- Use bulk deletion only if needed. Chrome’s Delete browsing data → Advanced → Autofill form data removes saved autofill form data in bulk, not just one email. Review the scope before using it. Google’s deletion instructions cover this option.
When you are signed in, changes to saved information may appear on other devices using the same Google Account; Google discusses this in its Chrome data and deletion help.
