RTINGS’ independent review gives it stronger scores for motion dissipation and responsiveness than for longevity and pressure relief. It is a different product from the separately reviewed Casper Cooling Select Hybrid, so the two versions’ specifications and scores should not be conflated.
What this review covers
This is the Casper Cooling Select 12-inch Memory Foam Mattress listed by Costco—not the Cooling Select Hybrid. RTINGS describes the foam mattress as an affordable, medium all-foam bed-in-a-box sold exclusively at Costco in the U.S. (RTINGS, updated September 18, 2026: Casper Cooling Select review.)

Construction, firmness, and sizes
Costco lists the mattress as 12 inches thick and medium in firmness. Its description highlights a cooling knit cover, breathable foam, zoned support, and a four-layer construction: breathable top layer, pressure-relieving memory foam, zoned support, and durable base. Costco also says the foam is CertiPUR-certified and contains no ozone-depleting chemicals. (Costco product listing: Casper Cooling Select 12-inch Memory Foam Mattress.)

RTINGS describes the internal layers using different terminology: polyfoam support, a zoned transition layer, and polyfoam and memory foam comfort layers. It says all foam layers are independently CertiPUR-certified. These descriptions come from different publishers and should not be treated as a one-to-one layer map.

How it performed in RTINGS’ review
RTINGS updated its review on September 18, 2026, using its Mattress Methodology v1.2. These are RTINGS’ publisher-specific test scores, not a prediction of how the mattress will feel or perform for every sleeper.
| Category | RTINGS score |
|---|---|
| Cooling | 7.9 |
| Motion dissipation | 8.6 |
| Support | 7.5 |
| Pressure relief | 7.3 |
| Edge support | 7.7 |
| Responsiveness | 8.3 |
| Longevity | 6.7 |
Within this review, motion dissipation and responsiveness are the highest-scoring categories; longevity and pressure relief are lower. RTINGS also includes the mattress in recommendation groupings such as affordable, King size, California King, heavy people, and back pain. Those are the publisher’s classifications, not clinical guidance or a guarantee that the mattress will suit a particular body or sleeping position.

Foam or Hybrid: they are separate mattresses
The foam model reviewed here is not interchangeable with the Casper Cooling Select Hybrid. The latter is a separate construction with its own RTINGS review, published in July 2026. Do not transfer the foam mattress’s scores to the hybrid. RTINGS describes the hybrid as combining low-, good-, and high-quality foam and warns that it may sag and develop permanent body impressions faster than options made only with higher-quality materials. That assessment applies to RTINGS’ hybrid review, not to hybrids as a category. (RTINGS Casper Cooling Select Hybrid review.)

Price, delivery, returns, and warranty
Costco’s listing showed a starting price of $469.99 and a $100–$150 discount in its product comparison result. Its product page also showed a Costco Direct multi-item promotion valid August 31 through October 29, 2026, while supplies lasted. Those are dated, potentially location- and item-dependent offers, not guaranteed current prices; check the live listing and checkout before buying. (Costco product listing linked above.)
Costco says delivery is to the doorstep and does not include setup or package removal by default. Setup may be available for an additional fee quoted at checkout. The listing says Costco.com items can be returned to Costco warehouses, while delivery availability depends on the area. Confirm current return terms and local eligibility directly with Costco.
