Card RS is a Rust crate that provides a composable card component for three Rust UI frameworks: Yew, Dioxus, and Leptos. The crate documentation confirms those three targets and states that the project is MIT-licensed. The project’s own article, dated September 27, 2026, describes it as an “extremely customizable, production-ready, accessible Card component.” The customization claim matches the documented API. “Production-ready” and “accessible” are the project’s own claims, and neither is verified here.
What Card RS is for
Card RS covers the card-style surfaces that most component libraries end up needing: a bordered or raised container holding a heading, a short description, body content, and an optional footer. Rather than building that markup by hand in each project, you add the crate and compose the pieces. The three frameworks it targets are commonly used to build browser front ends that compile to WebAssembly, which is where the “WASM frameworks” wording in the title comes from.

Framework targets and install commands
Each framework is enabled through a Cargo feature flag. The Card RS crate documentation on docs.rs lists a module for each target, and the project article gives the matching install commands.

Component structure
The API is composable. A Card wrapper can stand alone or be combined with any of the following subcomponents:
- Header: the top region of the card.
- Title: the card’s heading text.
- Description: supporting text beneath the title.
- Content: the main body of the card.
- Footer: the bottom region, typically for actions or metadata.
Because every part is optional, a minimal card can be a wrapper with only content, while a fuller card adds the header and footer as needed. The project article presents the framework APIs as aligned across Yew, Dioxus, and Leptos, so the same part names should carry over between targets. Check each framework’s syntax against the crate documentation, since the article does not reproduce full code samples for each one.

Surface variants
The project describes four variants, each meant to signal a different level of surface prominence:
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems2Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches3Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors- Transparent: the least prominent surface, without a distinct background.
- Default: the standard card surface.
- Secondary: a surface that recedes relative to the default.
- Tertiary: a further step in the same hierarchy.
Neither the project article nor the crate documentation specifies the exact colors, borders, or spacing each variant produces. If the visual difference matters for your design, render all four in your own application before committing to one.

Customization
The project says callers can customize:
- CSS classes on the wrapper and subcomponents
- inline styles
- ARIA-related labels
- attributes on each subcomponent
This covers most of what a design system typically needs from a card: you can apply your own utility or theme classes, adjust styling without forking the component, and pass through attributes for testing hooks or data bindings.
Accessibility: what is claimed and what is not verified
The project article makes three specific accessibility-related statements:
Rank #4
- CLASSIC MEETS MODERN: The classic Rider Back design is reimagined in bold black creating a sleek, stylish deck that stands out at any card table.

- MADE IN USA: Crafted in the USA these Bicycle Black Playing Cards combine sustainability with quality you can trust.
- The
Cardwrapper renders an HTML<article>element by default. - Role overrides are available, so you can change the element’s semantics when a card is not a standalone article.
- An
aria_labelledbyproperty is available to associate the card with a labelling element.
These are documented features, and they are the right tools for labelling a card. They do not, on their own, establish WCAG conformance. Neither the project article nor the crate documentation points to an independent accessibility audit or to screen-reader testing. Before relying on the component for an accessibility-sensitive product, check the rendered output yourself:

What is not established
The materials behind this article do not establish the following, so do not assume them:
- The current released version of the crate, or how recently it was published.
- Which versions of Yew, Dioxus, and Leptos are tested or supported.
- The level of ongoing maintenance activity.
- Independent code quality, security review, or performance measurements.
- Real-world production use by other teams.
Those gaps matter most for a dependency you expect to keep for years. Check the crate’s repository and release history on docs.rs and its source host before committing.
A checklist before adopting Card RS
No competing product is compared in the project article or the crate documentation, so evaluating Card RS means checking it against your own requirements. A practical checklist:
Quick Recap
- Your framework is one of Yew, Dioxus, or Leptos, and you can pin a version that the crate compiles against.
- The subcomponent structure and variants fit the card layouts you need.
- Your class and style approach works with the customization options the project describes.
- You have verified the labelling and semantics with a screen reader, not only through the claims in the project article.
- Your team is comfortable owning the dependency if the upstream project slows down or changes its API.
