No. YouTube Live Redirect hands viewers off after a live stream or Premiere ends; it does not keep that source broadcast running in a loop. To send viewers to a 24/7 loop, you need a separate destination stream already live or scheduled. Live Redirect can then hand viewers to it when the source ends.
What YouTube Live Redirect does
Live Redirect is an end-of-stream handoff. You choose a Premiere or another channel’s live stream as the destination, and YouTube moves viewers there after your source stream or Premiere ends. It does not extend the source broadcast or create a continuous loop. YouTube Help explains the feature and its setup.

YouTube’s TeamYouTube announcement says eligible destinations can include active or upcoming live streams and upcoming Premieres. Viewers who have autoplay turned off may need to click Play themselves. The announcement describes the destination options and autoplay behavior.

What you need before setting up a redirect
- A separate destination: The loop must have its own stream setup. Live Redirect only hands viewers to that destination; it does not start or operate the loop.
- Sender eligibility: YouTube Help says the creator sending a redirect must have more than 1,000 subscribers and no Community Guideline strikes.
- Permission for another channel’s stream: The destination channel must allow redirects. Its creator controls access in YouTube Studio; available choices include channels they subscribe to, all channels, or specifically approved channels. The exact setting wording or availability may change, so check Studio.
- A ready destination: Have the destination stream or Premiere available before the source ends. Let viewers know they may need to wait a few seconds for their screens to reload.
How to set a Live Redirect
- Open YouTube Studio, choose Content, then open the Live tab.
- Edit the source live video and open Customization.
- Under Redirect, select Add, then choose the Premiere or another channel’s live stream.
- Confirm the destination is ready for the planned handoff. If it belongs to another channel, make sure that channel allows your redirect.
- End the source stream when you are ready for the handoff. Viewers with autoplay enabled move to the selected destination; viewers with autoplay disabled may have to click Play.
How to keep the destination running as a 24/7 loop
Operate the continuous loop separately from Live Redirect. One option is to run a local streaming setup; another is a cloud service that plays uploaded videos to YouTube. Choose based on whether you need the stream to keep running when your computer is off, how you want to manage interruptions, and the costs and controls that fit your setup. A loop does not change YouTube’s copyright rules: use material for which you have the necessary rights and permissions.
