What’s actually slowing this PC down?

Yes. YouTube can issue a copyright strike if it removes an active live stream for copyright. Running a stream continuously does not exempt it from enforcement. A live match warning or interruption, however, is not automatically a strike; check YouTube Studio and YouTube’s notice to see what action was taken.
What can happen while the stream is live?
YouTube scans live streams for matches to third-party content. If it detects a match, it may show a warning and replace the stream image with a placeholder. If the material continues, YouTube may interrupt or terminate the stream. Those steps are distinct from the copyright strike YouTube says it applies when an active live stream is removed for copyright.

In other words, the stream can be interrupted first, but the decisive question is whether YouTube removed it through a copyright takedown. A 24/7 schedule does not change that distinction.

| Mechanism | When it may happen | Possible effect |
|---|---|---|
| Live match | While the stream is running | A warning, placeholder image, interruption, or termination if the matched content continues; a match alone is not necessarily a strike. |
| Content ID claim | For an archived live stream, claims are made after the stream ends | Depending on the rights holder’s settings, the claim may monetize, track, or block the video. A claim is not itself a copyright strike. |
| Copyright removal request | When a rights holder submits a legal request that YouTube reviews | If YouTube finds the request valid and removes the content, it applies a copyright strike. A scheduled request can give the uploader seven days to act before removal and a strike. |
YouTube’s Copyright issues with live streams explains live matching and interruptions. Its pages on copyright strikes, copyright removal requests, and Content ID claims describe the separate processes.

What a strike can mean for the channel
YouTube says removal of an active live stream for copyright brings a seven-day restriction on live-stream access. Another strike makes that restriction 14 days. Three copyright strikes within 90 days can make a channel subject to termination. These are channel consequences, not simply a temporary interruption to one broadcast.
For a specific incident, check the channel’s YouTube Studio dashboard and the email from YouTube. Do not infer that a strike was issued solely from a warning, a placeholder screen, or a stream interruption.

If YouTube sends a scheduled removal notice
A scheduled removal request gives the uploader seven days to take specified action before the content is removed and a strike is applied. YouTube says deleting the content within that window prevents the scheduled request from producing a strike. Once a strike has been applied, deleting the content does not resolve it.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors2Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches3Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsIf a strike is issued, YouTube lists Copyright School and waiting 90 days for channels with fewer than three strikes, obtaining a retraction, or submitting a valid counter notification as possible resolution paths. A counter notification is a legal request; use it only if you believe the removal was mistaken, including because a copyright exception may apply. Consider the facts and relevant jurisdiction before taking legal steps.

How to reduce copyright risk on a continuous stream
- Use video and audio you created, or material you have permission to use for this specific purpose.
- Do not assume that a live match warning is harmless because the stream is automated or scheduled to run 24/7; address the matched material promptly.
- Review the official notice and Studio status to distinguish a live interruption, a Content ID claim, a scheduled removal request, and an applied strike.
- Keep records of permissions and licenses so you can assess a notice accurately and respond within any stated deadline.
Platform guidance explains YouTube’s process, but it does not determine whether a particular use infringes copyright. That depends on the content and circumstances.

If your 24/7 YouTube channel uses uploaded recordings rather than a live camera, StreamNeo can keep the stream running from the cloud: upload a recording or build a playlist, add your YouTube stream key once, and go live. Your computer and home connection do not have to stay on. It supports uploaded quality up to 4K 60fps at one price per slot, automatically recovers if YouTube drops the stream, and offers the first day free with no card. The monthly price is $9.99 per month. StreamNeo does not prevent copyright enforcement, so use only material you have the right to stream. See StreamNeo, or start the free day.
