Possibly—but there is no blanket approval for every continuous playlist of prerecorded yoga classes. Before streaming, make sure you have rights to broadcast each class and its music on YouTube Live, and confirm your channel is eligible to go live. YouTube may interrupt a stream that contains third-party content, while permission to use a class does not by itself guarantee that YouTube will approve the channel for monetization.
Check these five things before you stream
- Who owns the class footage? If an instructor or studio made the class, get permission or a license that explicitly covers broadcasting it on YouTube Live. Check the permitted territories and duration, and whether the stream may be archived or made available later. YouTube’s livestream terms put responsibility for necessary rights on the person providing the live content.
- Does the permission cover the music? Confirm that music rights cover this live use, not just an in-person class or ordinary video upload. YouTube’s terms specifically refer to music licensing rights. If a third party licensed the class or music, ask the rights holder whether they will add your channel to their Content ID allowlist before you stream.
- Does the license permit this kind of broadcast? Permission to watch, download, teach with, or post a class as a regular video does not necessarily include permission to rebroadcast it as a continuous live stream. Read the license or ask the rights holder; the applicable terms depend on the specific permission.
- Can your channel go live? YouTube’s live-stream setup guidance says the channel must be verified and must not have had a live-stream restriction in the preceding 90 days. The stream also has to comply with YouTube’s Community Guidelines and Terms of Service.
- Do you expect to monetize? Consider YouTube’s reused-content policy separately from copyright. Having permission does not automatically make a channel eligible for monetization.
Why YouTube may interrupt a class playlist
YouTube scans live streams for third-party content. According to its live copyright guidance, a match may trigger a placeholder image and warning. If the content remains in the stream, YouTube may temporarily interrupt or terminate it. The guidance also says that creators who licensed third-party content should ask its owner to add their channel to the Content ID allowlist.

That allowlisting step is particularly important to discuss with a class or music licensor before going live. A license and YouTube’s ability to recognize the permitted use are separate practical issues; do not assume that possessing a license will prevent an automated interruption.

YouTube’s channel monetization policy says its use of “video” includes live streaming. It describes reused content as material repurposed from YouTube or another online source without significant original commentary, substantive modification, or educational or entertainment value. YouTube also says reused-content review is separate from copyright enforcement and is not based on copyright permission or fair use.

As a result, a playlist of prerecorded classes could raise a monetization question even if you have the necessary broadcast rights. The policy does not establish that every such playlist will be rejected—or approved. The outcome depends on the content and the channel review; permission alone is not a guarantee.
Questions to put to the instructor, studio, or licensor
- Does the permission explicitly cover continuous or recurring broadcasts on YouTube Live?
- Which territories and dates or duration does it cover?
- Does it cover every element of the class, including the instructor, footage, background music, and any third-party clips?
- Can the stream be archived or replayed, and do those uses have separate terms?
- Will the rights holder add your channel to its Content ID allowlist, if needed?
- Does the agreement address monetization, or does it limit ads or other commercial use?
These are practical checks, not a substitute for the actual license. YouTube’s terms require the necessary rights for live content, including music rights, but they do not determine what a particular contract grants.

What monetization features do—and do not—promise
YouTube lists ads, Super Chat and Super Stickers, and channel memberships as potential live-stream revenue features for eligible channels in its live monetization guidance. Eligibility for a feature does not establish that a particular yoga playlist qualifies for monetization, and ad slots are not guaranteed to serve.
Or let it run in the cloud
If you have cleared the rights and want a prerecorded playlist to keep running without leaving a computer on, StreamNeo is a cloud service for keeping a YouTube channel live from uploaded videos. Upload your recording or build a playlist, add your YouTube stream key, and go live. The rights checks above still apply: a cloud service does not grant permission to rebroadcast a class or its music.
