Yes. The iPhone’s built-in Apple Calendar app can sync events from a Google account; you do not need an Android device or Google’s separate Calendar app. Add your Google account in iPhone Settings, turn on Calendar for that account, and open Apple Calendar.
Set up your Google Calendar in Apple Calendar
- Open Settings on your iPhone.
- Tap Apps, then Calendar.
- Tap Calendar Accounts, then Add Account.
- Choose Google and sign in to your Google account.
- Make sure Calendars is enabled for that account. You can turn off other account services if you only want calendar syncing.
- Open Apple’s Calendar app and look for your Google calendar events.
These are the current iPhone menu labels documented by Apple Support. Labels can differ on older iOS versions. Google also documents adding an account through Calendar settings and enabling Calendars for an existing account in its iPhone and iPad setup guide.

What works—and what does not
Google documents syncing Google Calendar events with Apple Calendar. However, Google lists three features that are unavailable in Apple Calendar:
- Event email notifications
- Creating new Google calendars
- Room Scheduler
If you need one of those features, use the Google Calendar iPhone app or open Google Calendar in a mobile browser for that task. The separate app is an option, not a requirement for ordinary event syncing. Google describes these access methods in its calendar syncing options.
#1 Best Overall
- This phone is unlocked and compatible with any carrier of choice on GSM and CDMA networks (e.g. AT&T, T-Mobile, Sprint, Verizon, US Cellular, Cricket, Metro, Tracfone, Mint Mobile, etc.).
- Please check with your carrier to verify compatibility.
- The device does not come with headphones or a SIM card. It does include a generic (Mfi certified) charging cable.
- Tested for battery health and guaranteed to have a minimum battery capacity of 80%.
When will changes appear?
Do not assume every change will appear instantly. Apple says accounts that do not support Push can use a Fetch schedule, which determines how often the iPhone checks for updates. You can review the available calendar account and Fetch settings in Settings > Apps > Calendar; the options depend on the account’s supported notification method.
