How to connect the controller to a Windows PC
For Windows 10/11, Xbox lists three connection choices. The sources do not establish that one performs better in a particular game, so choose based on whether you prefer wireless convenience, a cable, or the Xbox Wireless connection.

- USB-C: Connect with a compatible USB-C cable; the controller package includes one.
- Xbox Wireless Adapter: Use a separately sold adapter if you want that wireless connection method.

What works on phones and tablets
Xbox lists Bluetooth support for select Android and iOS devices and versions, as well as tablets. Support depends on the device and software version, and the game must accept controller input. Xbox also says some controller functionality is unsupported on these platforms. The available official information does not identify a comprehensive list of compatible phones or games, so verify both before assuming a particular combination will work.
Customization differs by platform
The Xbox Accessories app is listed for Xbox consoles and Windows 10/11. Xbox lists button mapping, Xbox button color, and profile configuration on Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and Windows 10/11—not as phone-based configuration features. Do not assume you can configure those options directly from a mobile device.
The controller can store up to three custom profiles and one default profile, according to Xbox’s product specifications. The same page specifies up to 40 hours of battery life per charge, with actual battery life varying by usage and other factors; that is a manufacturer specification, not an independent test. Series 2 and Core packages include different parts
Compatibility does not require the optional Complete Component Pack. The full Series 2 package and Core package differ in what is included, so check the exact product listing and region before buying.
