You can’t turn on active noise cancellation (ANC) on Beats Solo3 Wireless: Apple’s Solo3 instructions do not document an ANC switch or setting. The buttons and controls on these headphones handle power, pairing, playback, volume, calls and voice control—not noise cancellation.
Why there is no ANC setting on Beats Solo3
Apple’s Solo3 setup and use guide explains the headphones’ power, pairing and other controls but does not include an ANC control. Apple’s separate guide to switching between noise-control modes covers supported Beats models such as Beats Studio Pro; it does not list Solo3 in its stated scope. Taken together, Apple’s documentation provides no way to enable ANC on Solo3.

What the Solo3 buttons do
- Power button: Press and hold for one second to turn the headphones on or off. This is not a noise-cancellation control.
- Pairing: Hold the power button for five seconds to make the headphones discoverable.
- “b” button: Use the left earcup button for playback and calls. Hold it until you hear a chime to activate Siri on iOS or voice control on another device.
- Volume buttons: Adjust playback volume.

You’ll need a different headphone model with a supported noise-control mode. Apple includes Beats Studio Pro in its noise-control instructions, making it one option to consider. It is a separate model, not a setting, accessory or upgrade that adds ANC to Solo3.

Can an app, reset or firmware update add ANC?
Apple’s Solo3 guide does not describe an app setting, firmware update, button combination or reset that adds noise cancellation. Trying those steps will not provide a documented way to enable ANC on this model.
