Random freezes, missing sound and display glitches usually trace back to one bad driver. Find and replace yours safely.Free scan · under a minuteYes—some Fortnite skins can be refunded if they were bought in the Item Shop with V-Bucks and meet Epic’s rules. You can cancel an eligible purchase within 24 hours only if you have not used or equipped the item, or use a Return Ticket for an eligible purchase made within the last 30 days. The item is removed from your account and the V-Bucks are returned. Other purchase types, including real-money purchases through a console or another third party, follow a different refund route.
Choose between Cancel Purchase and a Return Ticket
Epic offers two routes for eligible Item Shop purchases made with V-Bucks. The key differences are the time limit, whether you used the item, and whether you have a Return Ticket. See Epic’s Fortnite Item Shop refund guidance for the current policy.

| Option | When it applies | Use requirement | Ticket cost |
|---|---|---|---|
| Cancel Purchase | Within 24 hours of purchase | The item must not have been used or equipped in any game mode | No Return Ticket |
| Return Ticket | Eligible purchase made within the last 30 days | Does not depend on the 24-hour unused-item condition | Uses one Return Ticket |
Cancel Purchase: within 24 hours
Use this option to undo a mistaken Item Shop purchase while it is still within 24 hours. The item must remain unused and unequipped in every game mode. Each item can be canceled only once. If the cancellation succeeds, Epic removes the item and returns its V-Bucks cost.

If more than 24 hours have passed, a Return Ticket may let you return an eligible Item Shop purchase made in the previous 30 days. The item is removed and its V-Bucks cost is returned. A bundle must be returned as a whole, not item by item.

- Redeemable on accounts in the United States and in U.S. Dollars.
- Gift card must be redeemed at EpicGames.com/redeem. This gift card WILL NOT work if redeemed directly on a console device (PlayStation, Xbox, Nintendo Switch, etc.)
- If you play Fortnite experiences on a console device, you need to link your Epic Games account to your console account(s) so items purchased at Fortnite.com/item-shop appear across all of your linked accounts
- Requires internet connection, valid Epic account and prior acceptance of the terms
- Redemption: Online
Accounts start with three tickets. Epic adds one ticket every 365 days, and an account can hold no more than three at a time. Epic says Support cannot grant extra tickets. If the 24-hour cancellation window has passed and you have no ticket, these two options cannot return the purchase.
How to request a Fortnite Item Shop refund
- Open Fortnite and select your Player Icon.
- Choose Support and Refunds, then Return or cancel purchase.
- Select the eligible item and follow the prompts to confirm the cancellation or ticket return.
Epic also provides a route through the web Item Shop. Interface placement and wording can change; if the sequence differs, look for Support and Refunds in Fortnite. You can review the recent refundable-purchases list there as well. Epic says it shows purchases from the last 30 days; older purchases do not appear. Seeing an item on the list is not, by itself, a guarantee that a particular refund option applies. Epic’s guide to the recent refundable-purchases list explains what it displays.

Which Fortnite purchases are excluded?
The standard Cancel Purchase and Return Ticket process is for eligible Item Shop purchases made with V-Bucks. Epic lists several exclusions, including:
- Passes, pass levels, and premium reward tracks
- Gifted purchases
- Level Up Quest Packs
- Certain Save the World items
- Purchases made in developer-created islands
Epic’s list of refundable and non-refundable Fortnite items describes the categories. In particular, a skin earned as a Battle Pass reward is not a refundable purchase: Epic says gameplay-earned Battle Pass rewards cannot be returned through Cancel Purchase or Return Tickets.
Rank #3
- An Epic Games account is required to redeem an Epic Games Store Card code
- If playing on a console platform (PlayStation Network, Xbox Live, Nintendo Switch or Mobile) you need to link your Epic Games account to that gaming platform (one time) to redeem your gift card code
- The 16 digit code on the back of the card WILL NOT work if redeemed directly through your gaming platform (PlayStation Network, Xbox Live, Nintendo Switch, Mobile, etc.)
- Note: Nintendo devices do not support Fortnite Shared Wallet, so V-Bucks purchased using your account balance will not show up on your Nintendo device. However, if you purchase items in the web Item Shop — or another platform where you play Fortnite — those items will be available in your Locker across all platforms.
- Redemption: Online
Special tokenless returns
Epic says certain cosmetic purchases may qualify for a return without a ticket in special circumstances. This applies only to specific items and is not assured for a particular request. Check the options shown in your account rather than assuming an exception is available. Epic’s information about tokenless cosmetic returns covers that exception.
What if you paid real money or bought the skin on another platform?
Do not use the V-Bucks Item Shop rules as a catch-all for real-money purchases. Epic says it cannot refund purchases made with real money through a third party. Contact the platform or seller that processed the payment—such as the relevant console storefront—for its refund process. Epic’s guidance for real-money Fortnite purchases explains this distinction.

Epic Games Store purchases have their own eligibility rules, including whether the product is marked self-refundable, how long ago it was purchased, and playtime. Those Store rules are separate from Fortnite’s V-Bucks Item Shop returns; see Epic Games Store’s refund policy if that is where you paid.
Check your account and the purchase route before deciding
- Bought with V-Bucks in the Item Shop within 24 hours? Try Cancel Purchase, provided the item has not been used or equipped.
- More than 24 hours ago, but within 30 days? Check whether the item is eligible and whether you have a Return Ticket.
- Earned the skin through gameplay or bought an excluded item? The standard Item Shop return options do not apply.
- Paid real money through a third party? Request the refund from the platform that handled the payment.
These are Epic’s support rules as accessed on October 7, 2026. Policies and menu labels may change. This guidance does not determine consumer rights under local law, which can vary by location.
