Can You Refund a Fortnite Skin or Bundle? Rules and Steps

Eligible V-Bucks purchases may be canceled within 24 hours or returned within 30 days with a Return Ticket. Bundle eligibility is unclear, and external-store purchases must be handled by that store.

Yes—some Fortnite Item Shop skins and other eligible cosmetics bought with V-Bucks can be canceled within 24 hours or returned within 30 days using a Return Ticket. Both options give V-Bucks back, not cash. Bundle eligibility is not clear in Epic’s support wording, so check the live return screen before assuming a bundle qualifies. If you paid through a console or mobile store, contact that store about a money refund.

Which Fortnite refund option applies?

Epic’s self-service options are for eligible Fortnite Item Shop purchases made with V-Bucks. The right option depends on how long ago you bought the item, whether you used it, and whether you have a Return Ticket.

As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases.

Option When it may apply Key conditions What you get back
Cancel Purchase Within 24 hours of purchase The item must not have been used or equipped in any game mode. Each item can be canceled only once. The V-Bucks spent
Return Ticket For an eligible purchase made within the last 30 days You need an available ticket, and the item must qualify. The V-Bucks spent

Epic says the item is removed from your account when either self-service return is completed. These are not cash refunds. For current eligibility details, see Epic’s How to Cancel or Refund Fortnite Item Shop Purchases Made with V-Bucks.

  • If you play Fortnite experiences on a console device, you need to link your Epic Games account to your console account(s) so items purchased at Fortnite.com/item-shop appear across all of your linked accounts
  • Requires internet connection, valid Epic account and prior acceptance of the terms
  • Redemption: Online

In Fortnite

  1. Open Fortnite and select the Player Icon in the top right.
  2. Choose Support and Refunds.
  3. Select Return or cancel purchase.
  4. Choose the purchase and confirm the action if it is available.
  5. Check the confirmation screen, which shows the V-Bucks credited.

On the web

  1. Sign in at fortnite.com/shop.
  2. Select the Player Icon, then Return and Cancel Purchases.
  3. Select Show Purchases.
  4. Choose the item and confirm, then check the screen for the V-Bucks credited.

How many Fortnite Return Tickets do you get?

Epic’s current support guidance says accounts start with three Return Tickets, receive one replenishment every 365 days, and can hold no more than three at a time. If more than 24 hours have passed and you have no ticket available, you cannot use the ticket method for that purchase. Epic Support says it cannot add extra tickets to an account.

Can you refund a Fortnite bundle?

Epic’s support wording is inconsistent on cosmetic bundles. One article says an eligible bundle must be returned as a whole; another lists “Cosmetic bundles” among purchases that cannot be returned with Cancel Purchase or Return Tickets. The public guidance does not establish that every skin bundle qualifies—or that every bundle is excluded.

Check whether the purchase appears as eligible in the live Return or cancel purchase screen before proceeding. If an eligible bundle is offered, Epic’s guidance says the whole bundle must be returned together; you cannot keep part of it. See Epic’s Fortnite Item Shop purchase refund guidance for its bundle wording.

Which purchases are excluded?

Epic lists these as ineligible for Cancel Purchase and Return Tickets:

Rank #3
Fortnite Physical Gift Card
  • An Epic Games account is required to redeem an Epic Games Store Card code
  • If playing on a console platform (PlayStation Network, Xbox Live, Nintendo Switch or Mobile) you need to link your Epic Games account to that gaming platform (one time) to redeem your gift card code
  • The 16 digit code on the back of the card WILL NOT work if redeemed directly through your gaming platform (PlayStation Network, Xbox Live, Nintendo Switch, Mobile, etc.)
  • Note: Nintendo devices do not support Fortnite Shared Wallet, so V-Bucks purchased using your account balance will not show up on your Nintendo device. However, if you purchase items in the web Item Shop — or another platform where you play Fortnite — those items will be available in your Locker across all platforms.
  • Redemption: Online
  • Passes, including the Festival Pass, and pass levels
  • Premium Reward Track
  • Gifted purchases
  • Level Up Quest Packs
  • Purchases from developer-made islands
  • Specified Save the World items

Battle Pass rewards earned through gameplay are also not returnable: Epic distinguishes earned rewards from items purchased in the shop. See Epic’s Battle Pass rewards guidance.

What if you paid real money or bought through another store?

Start with the seller that processed the payment. Epic says refunds for purchases made on a console or directly through a mobile store other than the Epic Games Store are governed by that store’s policy, and Epic cannot process payments it does not manage. Contact the relevant console or mobile store; approval is not guaranteed. Epic’s console and mobile store refund guidance explains this distinction.

Fortnite Physical Gift Card | Powered by the Epic Games Store - $50

For other real-money purchases, including Epic Games Store transactions or developer-island purchases, use the support route for the product and payment channel involved. Epic’s general refund guidance distinguishes among these purchase types. Do not expect an external store refund to be an Epic-issued V-Bucks return.
