Yes for Halloween activities that are Freemode Events: Rockstar says Freemode Events are available in private sessions. But that does not confirm that every Halloween mode can be launched in an Invite Only Session. The October 2026 lineup also includes Slasher modes in the Featured Series and Ludendorff Cemetery Survival, and Rockstar’s announcement does not specify private-session access for those activities.
Which Halloween activities can you play privately?
It depends on the activity type. Rockstar Support explicitly confirms private-session availability for Freemode Events, while its October 1, 2026 Halloween announcement lists other activities without stating whether they work in Invite Only Sessions.

The distinction matters: a confirmation for Freemode Events is not a blanket rule for every activity marketed as Halloween content. Featured activities and rewards can also rotate during October, so consult Rockstar’s current Newswire post or the in-game listings for the week you plan to play.

Rockstar’s current instructions require you to start from Story Mode. Use this path:

- Enter Story Mode.
- Open the Pause Menu and select Online.
- Choose Find New Session.
- Select Invite Only Session and confirm leaving your current session when prompted.

Private-session availability does not mean every Freemode Event can run solo or with any group size. Rockstar says many events have a minimum participant requirement, which varies by event. For example, its support article lists Hunt the Beast as requiring at least 10 players in the session. A private lobby may therefore be valid but still lack enough participants.

Rockstar also says Time Trials are unavailable in private or solo sessions. That is a separate activity rule, not evidence about whether a particular Halloween Featured Series or Survival can be launched privately.

How to check a specific Halloween mode
- If the activity is identified as a Freemode Event, Rockstar’s general rule permits private sessions, subject to that event’s participant minimum.
- If it appears as a Featured Series mode or Survival, inspect its in-game launch options; the official October 2026 announcement does not establish Invite Only access for those activities.
- If you are playing with only your Crew, apply the same distinction: private-session support for Freemode Events does not confirm access for every other Halloween mode.
