Yes—some fighting games let players on PS5, Xbox Series X|S and PC play online together, but crossplay depends on the individual game. TEKKEN 8, Mortal Kombat 1 and THE KING OF FIGHTERS XV support cross-platform play across the named systems. Storefronts, account setup, settings and supported modes can still determine whether two players can connect.

For TEKKEN 8, Bandai Namco Europe confirmed online cross-play in its January 26, 2024 launch announcement, listing PS5, Xbox Series X|S and PC via Steam. For Mortal Kombat 1, WB Games lists PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Steam and Epic Games Store, while excluding Switch. SNK’s platform notice lists PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Windows 10, Steam and Epic for THE KING OF FIGHTERS XV.

How do you set up crossplay in Mortal Kombat 1?
WB Games says crossplay supports Ranked Kombat League and Kasual Versus matchmaking, King of the Hill lobbies, and private matches and invites through the WB Games friends list. To enable it:

- Link a WB Games Account to the account on your console or PC.
- From the main menu, open Settings > Online and turn on Enable Krossplay.
- Invite or find friends using the supported mode; private cross-platform invites use the WB Games friends list.
WB’s FAQ says PlayStation Plus or Xbox Game Pass Core is required for online multiplayer on those consoles. Those subscriptions are not required simply to play Mortal Kombat 1 offline on PS5 or Xbox Series X|S.
Why might a PC player be unable to match with console players?
In Mortal Kombat 1, cross-platform matchmaking between PC and PS5 or Xbox Series X|S is blocked if the PC player does not meet the game’s online benchmark. WB’s Krossplay and Kross-Progression support page documents that restriction. A game can support crossplay in principle while still enforcing technical requirements or limiting which modes connect.

No. Check the exact console generation and PC storefront rather than relying on a broad platform label. Mortal Kombat 11 illustrates the difference: its official Krossplay FAQ allows PlayStation and Xbox console players to connect, and supports Xbox with the Microsoft Store Windows version. It does not connect PlayStation players to PC or support crossplay with the Steam PC version. Its crossplay support is described around Kasual play and designated rooms, not as universal matchmaking across every platform and mode.

What to check before choosing a game with friends
- Confirm the exact platforms: PS5 versus PS4, Xbox Series X|S, and the relevant PC storefront.
