A Metro by T-Mobile store is set up to take payments for Metro accounts, and T-Mobile’s own list of ways to pay a postpaid bill doesn’t include Metro stores. Neither carrier publishes a rule saying every Metro location turns away T-Mobile bills. The reliable route is one of T-Mobile’s own channels. If you specifically need to pay in person at a Metro store, call that store first.
Why a Metro store isn’t a dependable place to pay a T-Mobile bill
T-Mobile’s support page on paying your bill lists these routes: online one-time payment (including guest payment), the T-Life app, AutoPay, bank bill pay, mail, a T-Mobile retail store, and Customer Care. Metro stores aren’t on the list.

Metro’s payment instructions tell Metro customers to visit a Metro by T-Mobile store to pay in person. That guidance covers Metro accounts, not T-Mobile postpaid ones. The two brands share a parent company, but their billing systems and published payment instructions are kept separate.
The guest-pay redirect that causes the confusion
T-Mobile’s Guest Pay page asks for a phone number or account number. If the number belongs to Metro, the page displays: “You will be redirected to Guest Pay Metro.” So T-Mobile’s web tool recognizes Metro numbers and passes them to Metro’s own guest-payment flow.

That is a routing feature of the website. It doesn’t show that Metro retail counters process T-Mobile postpaid payments.
Where to pay a T-Mobile postpaid bill
Online, T-Life or guest pay
T-Mobile lists Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover, bank account (ACH), the T-Mobile MONEY debit card and PayPal as accepted online, in T-Life and in a store. Cash is listed for in-store payments only. Guest Pay lets you pay without signing in.
Rank #2
- True Unlimited High-Speed Data at 4G/LTE speed on T-Mobile Network in USA.
- Unlimited calls within the USA, International texting and personal hotspot at 3G speed.
- Calls, texting, and data can also be used in the USA, Canada and Mexico.
- The activation takes up to 2 Hours.
Bank bill pay or mailed check
- Payee: T-Mobile
- Address: T-Mobile, P.O. Box 742596, Cincinnati, OH 45274-2596
- Timing: T-Mobile says to allow at least five days for a mailed payment to arrive, so send it well before your due date.
T-Mobile store or Customer Care
Both work, but T-Mobile’s page has described a support charge for assisted payments: $5 in store and $10 with Customer Care. Fees and digital-payment promotions change, so check the live page before choosing an assisted channel. Paying online, in T-Life or through AutoPay avoids the question.

Where to pay a Metro by T-Mobile account
If your bill is from Metro, a Metro store is a legitimate option. Metro’s support page lists these ways to pay:

- AutoPay: charges your preferred credit or debit card three days before the due date and may save up to $5 per account.
- Metro Customer Care by phone.
- A Metro store: Metro’s activation FAQ says cash or a credit or debit card works there.
Metro’s in-store fee is the one detail its pages don’t agree on. The support page says a fee is due at payment without stating the amount, and a separate payment guide presents fees and posting times differently. Ask Metro or the store for the amount before you go.

- Confirm which carrier issues your bill: T-Mobile postpaid or Metro prepaid.
- For a T-Mobile bill, use a T-Mobile retail store. Pay with cash or a card, and expect the support charge.
- If you only have a Metro store nearby, call that exact store and ask whether it can take a T-Mobile postpaid payment, and at what fee. Individual locations may differ, and the published sources don’t settle that.
- Keep the receipt, and check that the payment shows on your account.
Keep the two systems apart. A payment made through the wrong route may not reach your account on time.
