Yes—but for a prerecorded 24/7 stream, your phone should manage a cloud service, not be the device broadcasting nonstop. YouTube’s mobile app can create, schedule, and start eligible mobile live streams, but YouTube’s instructions do not establish that the app can keep a prerecorded broadcast running unattended around the clock. A cloud service can host a continuous prerecorded loop while you manage its setup from your phone.
What “manage from your phone” can mean
There are two different workflows: the phone can send its own live camera feed, or it can act as a remote control for a broadcast running elsewhere. The first suits a person or event streamed directly from a phone. For a prerecorded 24/7 loop, the second is the relevant option: a cloud service runs the feed, while you configure or check it from a mobile browser or app.

Use the YouTube app for a live feed from your phone
YouTube lists mobile, webcam, and encoder streaming as distinct methods, describing mobile as suited to quick updates and encoders as the more flexible production method. See YouTube’s live-streaming overview.
Check eligibility before scheduling
- Your channel must be verified.
- You need at least 50 subscribers.
- Your channel must not have had live-streaming restrictions in the previous 90 days.
- Your phone or tablet must be supported.
- First-time activation can take up to 24 hours.

Create or schedule a mobile stream
The YouTube app supports creating or scheduling a mobile live stream and starting a scheduled one. This is a way to broadcast from the mobile device—not evidence that the phone can be left unattended to run a prerecorded stream 24/7. YouTube’s instructions are at Get started with live streaming.
For a prerecorded 24/7 loop, use a cloud workflow
In a cloud workflow, upload the videos, make a playlist or loop, connect the YouTube channel or stream, then start the broadcast. The provider hosts the continuous feed, so the phone is for setup and management rather than for sending video all day. Gyre describes cloud looping and a workflow of uploading videos, building a playlist, and connecting YouTube. OneStream documents creating a 24-hour YouTube stream in its mobile app, but its help page says the feature requires Enterprise access and has a maximum duration of 30 days.

Those are vendor-described capabilities, not independent uptime guarantees. Check each provider’s current plan terms, stream-duration limits, storage limits, and recovery behavior before choosing it. OneStream’s documentation was updated September 3, 2026; its stated Enterprise and 30-day constraints may change. Gyre’s feature and plan details can also change.
Options for running prerecorded video continuously

If you use an encoder, protect the stream key
An encoder is useful when you are producing a live camera feed or need a controlled encoding workflow. YouTube sends an encoder the stream URL and key from Live Control Room. YouTube describes stream keys as “your YouTube stream’s password and address,” so treat the key like a credential: do not share it or expose it in a public screenshot. - In YouTube Studio, open Live Control Room and retrieve the stream URL and key for the event.
- Enter them into the encoder’s YouTube or custom streaming destination settings.
- Start the encoder and check the Live Control Room preview before relying on the public stream.
- Monitor the viewer-facing stream and the encoder or service status during the broadcast; a successful setup is not a promise of uninterrupted delivery.

Plan for archives, rights, and continuity
Do not assume a 24-hour stream will be archived
YouTube’s encoder guidance says streams under 12 hours are automatically archived. That statement does not establish the same archive outcome for a longer broadcast. If you need a recording, make a separate archive plan rather than relying on the live stream’s replay being available. See YouTube’s encoder live-stream guidance.

Confirm that you can rebroadcast every item
A cloud tool does not grant rights to the videos, music, or other audio you upload. Use material you own or are authorized to broadcast, and check YouTube’s current copyright and reused-content rules before building a long-running playlist.

- You cannot go live in the YouTube app: check channel verification, the 50-subscriber threshold, recent live-stream restrictions, device support, and whether first-time activation has finished.
- The scheduled mobile stream will not start: verify that the correct scheduled event is selected in the app and that the channel remains eligible. Scheduling a mobile stream does not turn it into an unattended prerecorded loop.
- An encoder does not connect: recheck the stream URL and key in Live Control Room and the encoder destination. If the key may have been exposed, replace it rather than continuing to use a compromised credential.
- The stream is not visible as expected: check the Live Control Room preview and the public viewer-facing stream, then inspect the encoder or cloud service’s status information. YouTube recommends testing and previewing before depending on a setup.
- A long broadcast has no replay: do not assume automatic archiving applies at 12 hours or longer; maintain a separate recording or archive plan.
- A cloud stream stops or reaches a limit: check the provider’s plan, duration cap, concurrent-stream allowance, storage, channel authorization, and recovery settings. These vary by service and can change.
