No—not while the live-streaming restriction is still active. YouTube says a restricted account cannot livestream through another channel during the active restriction. Its guidance does not say that submitting an appeal pauses enforcement or restores access. Wait until YouTube removes the restriction or the stated restriction period ends, then confirm that your channel is eligible before going live.
What matters: whether the restriction is still active
A pending appeal does not, by itself, mean that livestreaming access has returned. YouTube’s guidance says the restriction applies for as long as it remains active, and directs creators to appeal using the instructions in their notification. The official guidance reviewed does not say that filing an appeal stays the restriction.

Use the status YouTube shows—not the fact that an appeal has been submitted—to decide whether you can stream. If Studio or your restriction notice still shows an active live-streaming restriction, do not go live.
Can you livestream from another channel?
No. YouTube says an account restricted from live streaming is prohibited from using another channel to livestream on YouTube for as long as the restriction remains active. YouTube treats this as circumvention and says it may lead to account termination. Changing channels is not a workaround.

What to do while the appeal is pending
- Read the restriction email. Check the stated reason, any duration, and the appeal instructions. YouTube says it notifies creators by email when a livestream or channel is restricted, including appeal directions when it believes a decision may have been mistaken.
- Check YouTube Studio. Review your channel’s current status and whether livestreaming is available. YouTube’s guidance advises checking strikes and live-stream access.
- Appeal through the route in the notice. The correct process depends on the enforcement action. YouTube’s general enforcement guidance recommends reviewing the email because response processes differ.
- Wait for a status change. Do not assume that a pending appeal has restored access. The official guidance reviewed does not give a general turnaround time for appeals of livestream restrictions.
- Before resuming, confirm eligibility. YouTube says a channel needs to be verified and have had no live-streaming restrictions in the past 90 days. Confirm that the restriction is no longer active and that the channel meets the applicable requirements.
Restriction, strike, copyright action, or monetization appeal?
These are not interchangeable. Identify the action in your notice before following appeal instructions or deciding whether you can stream.
| Action or status | What the guidance establishes | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| Active live-streaming restriction | Livestreaming is unavailable while the restriction remains active; using another channel to stream is prohibited. | Follow the notice’s appeal directions and wait until YouTube removes the restriction or its stated active period ends. |
| Strike connected to a livestream restriction | YouTube’s live-streaming start guidance says a strike that results in a livestream restriction prevents livestreaming for 14 days. That period does not apply to every kind of restriction. | Check the strike and restriction details in the notice and Studio; do not assume all restrictions last 14 days. |
| Copyright action or livestream removal | A match to another copyrighted live broadcast is among the reasons YouTube lists for restricting livestreaming. The exact reason and appeal route depend on the notice. | Use the appeal process specified for that copyright action. |
| YouTube Partner Program or monetization action | A monetization suspension or appeal is separate from a live-streaming restriction. | Use the separate guidance for the monetization action; do not infer that its appeal changes livestream access. |
Why YouTube may restrict livestreaming
YouTube lists several possible causes, including a Community Guidelines strike or livestream removal, a match to another copyrighted live broadcast, certain situations involving minors, and other cases in which channel features have been disabled. Livestream access may be turned off temporarily or permanently. Your notice is the controlling source for the specific reason, duration, and appeal route.

If the notice gives a specific end date or other conditions, follow those and check Studio before attempting a stream.
