Usually, no. When a PlayStation Plus Extra or Premium Game Catalog title leaves the Catalog, its subscription access ends—even if you downloaded it. Monthly games you previously added to your library work differently: you can play them while your membership is active.
What happens when a Catalog game leaves?
A Game Catalog or Classics Catalog title is available through the subscription only while it remains in the service. Sony says some titles have announced end dates; once a game leaves, access to the game and its associated DLC or add-ons ends. There is no general grace period established for playing after the removal date. Sony’s PlayStation Plus games FAQ explains the removal rule.

The Catalog lineup and departure dates can vary by time and region. For a particular game, check its current listing in the PlayStation Store or the Catalog for your region rather than assuming that another region’s date applies.
Does downloading a PS Plus Extra game mean you keep it?
No. Downloading a Catalog game installs it; it does not turn the subscription license into ownership. The title still depends on both an eligible active membership and the game remaining available in the Catalog. PlayStation’s May 2022 guide to the new PlayStation Plus says downloaded Catalog titles require connecting to PSN every seven days to validate membership and maintain access.

Is a monthly game different from a Catalog game?
Yes. A monthly game you claimed and added to your library is not the same benefit as a rotating Extra or Premium Catalog title. Sony says monthly games can be downloaded and played at any time while you have an active membership. A Catalog title, by contrast, can become unavailable through the subscription when it is removed. Sony’s FAQ on PlayStation Plus games distinguishes these access rules.
Will you lose your save data?
Removal ends access to the game through the Catalog, but it does not necessarily mean your saved progress is gone. Sony says you can access saved data again if you later purchase the game separately, as long as you have not deleted the save data. That option depends on the title being available to buy in your region; Sony does not promise every departing Catalog game will remain on sale. What happens to DLC and add-ons?
Associated DLC and add-ons also become inaccessible when the Catalog game leaves. Sony says previously purchased DLC can be used again if you regain access to the base game, such as by resubscribing to a service that includes it or buying the game separately. If a game is approaching its end date, check whether you claimed it as a monthly game or only downloaded it from the Catalog, and whether you own a separate copy. Also check the title’s current regional listing and keep any save data you may want to use if you regain access later.
