No—not through any installation method Hasselblad documents or supports. The X2D 100C has official camera firmware updates, but Hasselblad’s instructions do not describe an app store, game platform, or way to load arbitrary third-party software. Firmware can add camera features; it is not a route for installing general-purpose apps.
What software can you use with the X2D 100C?
It helps to distinguish three things that can sound alike but work differently:

- Camera firmware: Hasselblad provides updates for the camera itself. These can add or adjust camera functions, but they are not user-installed applications. See Hasselblad’s X2D 100C FAQ and X System Firmware page for official update information.
- Phocus and Phocus Mobile 2: These are Hasselblad photography workflow tools for compatible computers and mobile devices. The FAQ describes connecting the camera by Wi-Fi to compatible iPhones and iPads for image transfer and editing; it does not describe installing those apps on the camera.
- Games or arbitrary custom apps: Hasselblad’s documentation does not provide an end-user method to install or run these on the X2D 100C.
This is a statement about documented, supported use. Hasselblad’s materials do not establish whether unofficial hardware or firmware modifications exist, so it would be too broad to claim that every possible modification has been ruled out.

How to update the X2D 100C firmware
If your goal is to get new camera functions, use Hasselblad’s official firmware rather than looking for an app installer. The manufacturer’s FAQ and X2D 100C User Manual v1.4 describe this process:

- Download the appropriate X2D 100C firmware from Hasselblad’s official firmware page. Check that the file is intended for your camera.
- Copy the firmware file to the root of the camera’s built-in SSD or a CFexpress Type B card. The internal SSD can be used, so a card is not required solely for the update.
- On the camera, open General > Service > Check for Update.
- Select the intended firmware file and follow the on-screen prompts. Do not turn off the camera or remove the card during the update.
Firmware availability can change. Check Hasselblad’s current X System Firmware page for the version currently offered rather than relying on an older version number.
What firmware updates can change
Firmware can expand or refine camera capabilities without making the camera a general-purpose software platform. For example, Hasselblad’s notes for firmware 3.1.0 list face detection, 10-bit HEIF and tethered live view through Phocus Mobile 2 or Phocus for Mac. Those are camera and photography-workflow features, not permission to install unrelated apps.

Some companion workflows can also depend on software versions: Hasselblad’s notes for firmware 3.2.0 specify a Phocus Mobile 2 v2.0.0-or-later requirement for the experience described there. Check the release notes for the firmware and workflow you intend to use before updating.
